A Virginia State Police spokesperson says that the suspect is dead and a trooper has life-threatening injuries after a shooting at the Greyhound station on North Boulevard on Thursday.
Spokeswoman Corinne Geller says a suspect opened fire on an officer at the station around 2:45 p.m. Two nearby troopers then shot the suspect, who died after being transported to VCU Medical Center. Two other people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Other police sources said the trooper had died, but Geller did not confirm this.
A child of five would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of five.

The shooter fired at the officer when the officer asked to check his ID.

If only we had more good guys with guns parading around Greyhound bus stations, things like this would never happen. It's ironic that if there weren't police there the shooter wouldn't have used his gun but the police killed the shooter. Right place, wrong time.
