I'm a little surprised that he didn't know what a Stradivarius was and really surprised at how many in the audience didn't know.

Too bad - I wish I had seen the question and known whether he went for it or not.

I'm thinking I'd better study ostrobogulous for next year.

7K: I once worked at a place above a record store that had to sneak Billy Idol out the back way after an in-store celeb appearance. Long ago.

10K: never before heard the ostro word, but have known outre since I was a tiny polymath.

I can rule out a couple of these, but I'm not up on my Billy Idol. ATA.

"Outré" and "zonky" seem to me like "out there". I think I have the guts to go for it with no lifeline.
$20,000: According to the Earth Policy Institute, thanks to healthier eating habits, what recently surpassed beef to become America's most consumed meat?
Again, depends on my guts. I associate turkey with healthy eating, but I have to think more chicken gets eaten than turkey.
$50,000: According to MedicineNet.com, "the anatomical juxtaposition of two orbicularis oris muscles in a state of contraction" is a fancy way of describing a what?
I'm assuming "oris" refers to the mouth, as in "oral".

Going for $100k with either 0, 1, or 2 lifelines depending on how brave I am.

When you consider chicken pieces, nuggets and sandwiches, I'd guess we eat hundreds (or thousands) times more chicken than turkey.
