The host of $ale of the Century, Card Sharks, and Definition passed away at age 82 after a battle with cancer.

I'm sorry to see the sad news. He was terrific as the host of $otC, a game show that required more skill emceeing than the average game show. In December 1985 I attended a taping of the syndicated version and was sitting in the front row when he took a moment in passing by (he could have easily continued up to the set saying nothing) to say hi to me and my brother.

On camera it was obvious he was a tall man. In person? Like seeing an NBA star.

My aunt was on Sale of the Century, but before his time. If I remember correctly, her tenure on the show spanned the end of Jack Kelly's time and the beginning of Joe Garagiola's. --Bob
