Is there a movie called Madness?
I keep thinking Walter Huston is here for Frank Capra's American Madness but I don't know about a film called Madness.

B-7. JOHNNY DEPP (Blow) + A-52. INSIDE OUT = B-61. JOHN TRAVOLTA (Blow Out)
First use of Johnny Depp and Inside Out, third use of Travolta.
That leaves just 4!
The four remaining movies are THE DARK KNIGHT and three movies that have been used once.
The eight remaining actors include WALTER HUSTON and seven that have been used once or twice.

I figured out why you said there were four left when I counted five. The Iron Giant was already on the consolidation.plasticene wrote:B-7. JOHNNY DEPP (Blow) + A-52. INSIDE OUT = B-61. JOHN TRAVOLTA (Blow Out)

In any case, according to my list, there are now four left. Good job, everybody.
Additional hint: two of the four remaining matches use the same movie. The other two are probably the hardest to get.

Re: Game #152: Subtitles
Okay, this is the last one that at least had an easy way in, since The Dark Knight hadn't been used yet. I'm not sure it's the intended match, though, since I think it makes 17 actors used three times.
B-41. MARLENE DIETRICH (Angel) + A-60. THE DARK KNIGHT = B-15. FREDRIC MARCH (The Dark Angel)
Third time for Dietrich and March, first for The Dark Knight.

Re: Game #152: Subtitles
That leaves one, and it's certainly the most difficult. I only included it because it could be made by combinations that were already there.
One actress who's already been used twice, one actor who's already been used once, and one movie that's already been used once. Maybe that'll narrow it down. But, really, I think you're virtually finished.
And I have another game waiting in the wings....

Tonight, at the Mann Center to hear the Philadelphia Orchestra play the score of The Godfather.
Lovely. Although sitting in the rain did little for my cough.
It didn't help me figure out anything.

Would you like a clue, such as the name of one of the actors involved? It's reached the needle-in-a-haystack point, and you've virtually finished it up anyway.

Well we COULD have Greta Garbo (love) + Love Affair = Annette Bening (Love Affair).franktangredi wrote:You are looking for the third usage of Greta Garbo.mellytu74 wrote:That would be lovely, Frank. Thank you.
But that's probably not it.

Re: Game #152: Subtitles
And I will be ready for that. I should note that my annual county-counting vacation starts next Sunday. Taking my kids down to New Orleans and Fort Walton Beach for the week. I will help in the game all that I can for the first few days.franktangredi wrote:And I have another game waiting in the wings....
