From the NWS: Here are some details on this severe outbreak:

A representative of the Emergency Medical Services Authority in Oklahoma City reports that at least 12 people were injured Wednesday, two possibly critical, in a trailer park near South Hattie and 48th Street. Rescue workers continue to search for people who are still reported missing in the area.
One person was hurt in Burr Oak, Kansas. No details on the extent of the injuries.
Cars reportedly flipped in the Oklahoma City metro area.
Dozens of homes were destroyed by tornadoes in Amber and Bridge Creek, Oklahoma.
Unprecedented heavy rainfall rates led to a flash flooding emergency in the OKC metro area. Water rescues were still being performed early Thursday morning.
A private 'safari' outside of Oklahoma City sustained a direct hit and animals were on the loose before officials wrangled them.
People inside Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport were told to shelter in the tunnels for the second time, due to the tornado threat.

At 6:00 p.m. CDT weather spotters confirmed a large tornado near western Norman, Oklahoma.

Scandia, Kansas: What's described as a "large and extremely dangerous tornado" was reported at 5:34 p.m. CDT. No word on damage or injuries yet.
A tornado hit Roseland, Nebraska, damaging at least two homes along with the Roseland Catholic Church. Minor injuries have been reported. Red Cross disaster teams are en route.

I have power again, after about a 12-hour outage. Since we have buried utilities, that was unusual. I had to hunt for flashlights in the dark.

We did have a tornado or two in Norman that, unlike the usual tracks, were not diverted by the bend in the river west of town. The first one entered on Robinson Street, about a mile north of me, and damaged some roofs and vehicles. It also took off part of the roof and some portions of a couple of walls at lb's favorite lodgings, the former Holiday Inn, now called The Norman Hotel. I-35 was closed for a good period of time because of wrecks, stalled vehicles, flooding, and power lines downed across the highway. I don't know yet what all happened east of there, as that's about the time the power went down. Just before it did, however, I heard on tv that a second tornado was aimed in this direction, "but probably a bit further south." That made it aimed more directly at me. Evidently it fizzled, lifted, or went elsewhere, because my roof is still intact and my car is still parked where I left it. I do have a few additional tree branches down in my back yard, along with another lake. We probably had close to 10 inches of rain since Tuesday. I'll find out more as the day goes on.

Since BeBe has a built-in, scientific grade barometer in her brain, she was quaking and shaking under my desk. I decided to trust her instincts and crawled in next to her, with a comforter to pull up to protect us from broken glass, if necessary. Lizbit stayed out, and I thought she was being brave and intending to guard our safety. Instead, when we did emerge, we discovered that she had taken the opportunity to eat her dinner plus every crumb of BeBe's dinner. I now believe she has adopted the motto, "If you have to have a crisis, there's no point in doing it on an empty stomach."

We still had electricity until the second storm, and then everything was dark. Now the sun is shining again. I'm trying to recharge all the battery-dependent gadgets while the chance is here. If there's a next time, I will not be quite so complacent. I'll watch the noon news to find out if more fun is in store for this evening.
