Well, you should have taken the under. Actually it was non-starter. After three days of 6-10 hours in the car and not getting to bed before midnight, the boys mutinied and said they were staying put at Balmorhea State Park on the last day. I can't say I blame them. A beautiful part of the country but so far between things. They stayed and swam while I and the Scout Master went to Ft. Davis National Historical Site. We did do a small hike, but I enjoyed lunch at The Drug Store the most. If you are ever in Ft. Davis, TX, The Drug Store is a must.
I had the Chicken Fried Steak and a vanilla malt. And because I'm such a s**t, I texted the below picture to my son who along with the other boys decided to stay at camp, in 106 degree heat, rather than go into town with us.
We did do a decent hike up the Lost Mine Trail at Big Bend. It was 2.4 miles each way going from about 5800 ft to 6900. I sweated, but wasn't beat.

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.
~~ Thomas Jefferson
War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.
