#1 Post by Pastor Fireball » Wed Jun 04, 2014 4:59 am

"4-by-4"

Yeah, I bet all of you are looking forward to Level 3's grids. But just look at these two grids for now. 4 points for each valid foursome with its connection, 4 points for a perfect grid, and 20 extra points if you can get everything correct.

Answers are due by Thursday 6/5 at 4 PM EDT.

Grid 1:

ASSASSIN | AURORA | BEACH | CROW
DOLL | GROVE | HART | HUTCH
MONK | NORMAL | PACE | PALADIN
QUINCY | ROCKFORD | ROGUE | SPENCER

Grid 2:

BAILEY | CLINTON | CULLEN | DUKE
GOLIATH | HAPPY | KNIGHT | LUCKY
MURRAY | NINJA | STONE | TIGER
TITAN | VAMPIRE | VIPER | WILSON

I think you missed my correct answer to Question 10 on Monday. --Bob

I've already put your pendulums in this week's scores.

Yours will be addressed at the end of the week, when I post the overall scores.

Now let's see where all of the points were in this week's grids.

Grid 1:

ASSASSIN | AURORA | BEACH | CROW
DOLL | GROVE | HART | HUTCH
MONK | NORMAL | PACE | PALADIN
QUINCY | ROCKFORD | ROGUE | SPENCER

There were no fewer than seven TV characters up there... specifically, the TV detectives. But you had to go this way to get the 20 points:

1. AURORA | NORMAL | QUINCY | ROCKFORD

Cities in Illinois.

2. BEACH | DOLL | GROVE | HUTCH

China _____.

3. ASSASSIN | MONK | PALADIN | ROGUE

Hero classes in role-playing games. I was looking specifically for the "Diablo" series, but the "Dungeons & Dragons" series is fine.

4. CROW | HART | PACE | SPENCER

Another toughie. Surnames of multi-state lottery drawing hosts. John Crow hosts Mega Millions drawings, Elizabeth Hart and Mike Pace have both hosted Powerball drawings, and Mikki Spencer hosted Lotto South and Win for Life drawings.

Grid 2:

BAILEY | CLINTON | CULLEN | DUKE
GOLIATH | HAPPY | KNIGHT | LUCKY
MURRAY | NINJA | STONE | TIGER
TITAN | VAMPIRE | VIPER | WILSON

A lot of Bills up there, but that wasn't where I was going with this grid.

1. DUKE | LUCKY | MURRAY | TIGER

TV dogs. They came from "The Beverly Hillbillies", "Married... with Children" (Buck's replacement, I believe), "Mad About You", and "The Brady Bunch".

2. GOLIATH | NINJA | TITAN | VIPER

Six Flags rollercoasters.

3. BAILEY | CLINTON | KNIGHT | STONE

Surnames of funk singers. Philip Bailey, George Clinton, Jean Knight, and Sly Stone.

4. CULLEN | HAPPY | VAMPIRE | WILSON

Types of numbers.

6/2 + 6/3 + 6/4 Scores (8 participants)
Bob Juch - 14 + 24 + 16 = 54
ShamelessWeasel - 6 + 16 + 8 = 30
smilergrogan - 2 + 6 + 12 = 20
kroxquo - 4 + 2 + 8 = 14
Bob78164 - 2 + 8 + 0 = 10
jarnon - 2 + 8 + 0 = 10
themanintheseersuckersuit - 2 + 2 + 0 = 4
franktangredi - 0 + 0 + 0 = 0
