Which of those things might you buy on impulse and then not be able to get rid of, if you later have remorse about it?

I like the idea for lottery tickets, but that's a source of government revenue, so don't expect any consumer protection there. To make it easier, I'd allow the ticket to be sold immediately, but only after consumers have accurately written down the correct expected value of their $1 purchase.

How could any law be proposed by "Washington, D.C."? I can see how some individual or advocacy group might propose the law in Washington, D.C., or to a Washington, D.C. government agency, but Washington, D.C. itself is not capable of proposing anything. And even if it was, who was Washington proposing it to?

It's been a while, but I don't recall the procedure being particularly onerous. When it comes to signing on the dotted line, maybe some folkses would benefit from a one-day cooling off period. I dunno, that's why I vacillated. Remember that it was the mortgage bubble bursting that sent us into that last economic tailspin.

Maybe the banks needed an extra 24-hour waiting period, back then, but I thought they had tightened up on things since then. It's been a long time since I got my mortgage, but when I sold my parent's house in 2012, the buyers had to show up at the closing about half an hour earlier than I did, just so they could start signing all the papers that came with the mortgage.

So, now that you've signed your name a hundred times, come back tomorrow and write next to each of those signatures, "I really mean it. Really, really."

I thought her $100K question was very easy. Prescription drugs usually have tongue-twister names that nobody can pronounce or spell, so they need names that are easier for non-doctors to remember.

As for the rest of the stack:
