I knew this one because I read, possibly in a Bathroom Reader, that people who subscribed to the "Paul is dead" theory took this license plate as a clue telling attentive fans that Paul's age would be 28 IF he were still alive. (I guess you have to strain a little bit to make it fit, since Paul was born in 1942 and Abbey Road came out in 1969. Or maybe the conspiracy theorists read it as, "On his next birthday, Paul would turn 28 IF he weren't dead.")
