The American Gladiators
I LOVED this show in High School-
Saw it for the first time tonight. A more juiced-up version, but entertaining nonetheless!
During "The Pyramid", the Gladiators proceeded to absolutely maul the two contenders...how brutal to watch.
To be a contestant on this show takes a whole bunch of gumption- all for the prize of $100,000.
Darn, you can win a million in 30 minutes on "1 vs 100" and not need a doctor afterward!

I watched the opening 2-hour show last night (it aired a few weeks ago), and tonight's show also. I was irritated by the first show's sexist references (announcer wondering about one of their bedroom activities, and something else similar) to two of the female players/gladiators, which they wouldn't have done with the guys, but I understand the show is supposed to appeal to men.
Tonight I wanted to root for the football player but she got a little obnoxious about it.
I will probably watch the later rounds but not all of the early shows. That Terminator would kill most of us mortals.

Re: The American Gladiators
Three things that irritate me about the new AG:
1. Hulk Hogan using the word "brother" about 20 times during an hour-long show.
2. The Eliminator is so difficult and challenging now that it makes any head start--hell, it makes the first five events--about as relevant as tits on a bull.
3. Where the hell is Atlasphere?!

They made the same promise in the first season of the original AG, but that never happened.Ritterskoop wrote:Also the winners get to be gladiators next season.

I watched the show not at all and plan on continuing to do so. Wrassling crossed with "Truth or Consequences" stunts. Not my cup of tea.peacock2121 wrote:What she said.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I watched the show once and I don't plan on doing it again.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
