Only in the Birthplace of Starbucks
Apparently, one county in Washington is trying to crack down on coffeeshops featuring bikini-clad baristas.

I'm curious as to how they are going to draft an ordinance that spells out just what sort of attire is or is not permitted.
On the other hand, I sure wouldn't to be an employee who has a cup of hot coffee spilled on a part of her anatomy where ordinarily the sun doesn't shine. That would make for a very interesting worker's comp claim.

Speaking of cheap coffee (not), everytime I go into Costco I get closer and closer to buying a Keurig. I was talking to the lady at BB&B when I got my last French Press and she said she absolutely loves it. I expressed dismay at having to buy those little cups (my Melitta is useless since I can't find the pods for it anymore) and she said they come with a reusable one for your own coffee. Walgreen's restaurants are famous!
The malted milkshake was invented by a Walgreen's soda jerk named Pops Coulson! I also believe (but can't swear to it) that Walgreen's came up with the Windy City.
Walgreen's invented the patty melt! Well, I don't know if they invented putting a hamburger patty on rye bread, but they came up with the name. Used to be that only Walgreens could capitalize Patty Melt. All other restaurants had to go lower case unless they paid Chuck's people, but I don't know if that's still true.
So, next time you're enjoying a patty melt and a malt, give a little salute to the glory that was Walgreen's.....
