The Bored Buddy Where's George Game

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Sun Apr 19, 2009 10:10 am

In between posting sprees this morning, I managed to enter my latest batch of 100 ones into Wheres George. Unlike all of the previous times though, I decided to have a little fun this time. On the back top margin of each bill, I wrote the name of a BB, including that BB's name in the user note so that if that bill gets hit again, I will know whose name is on it. Whenever one of the BB bills is hit, I will post a link in this thread, and update the list below, which will serve as the scoresheet for this little activity....

In choosing the 100 BB's to be included, I went down my most recent expanded rankings list and wrote down all of the BB's who have been at least somewhat active the last couple months. Then, when I hit 100, to include some less prodigious BB's who have been active, I bumped some less active regular BB's. There were some real tough calls I made, but that's the way it goes....

The bills will be shuffled and spent as I normally would, and should be pretty well all distributed within about 3 weeks or so. I will not be tracking whose bills I spend at what time and where to ensure the randomness I demand from my Georging. By my average stats, in teh fullness of time, about 15-20 of these bills should rear their heads again at least once.....

This may sound like a cheesy idea, but I hope it can be somewhat fun seeing which bills show up and where....

Given my luck with George, I should have fifty of them with my name to give me half the chance of those with one to their name. Ha!

Noooo Kay!!! This is a good one because all losers are equal losers! There is no dead last, there will just be about 80 (or more) losers. But there will be more of us than the winners, so really the losers can revolt and turn out to be the winners. Or something like that.

Whatever. I guarantee you if there's a way to lose, I'll find it.

Are you only entering ones?

I'm entering all the bills I get now, even if the larger denominations have poorer hit rates.

This is very exciting.

Putting just the first names of Cindy and Kay was probably a good idea. I could see how Kay might lose if FBI Agent Soandso found Kay's full name plastered all over a bill. LOL

Does anyone really use those Ulysses S. Grants? Most of the ATM machines I use dispense Andrew Jacksons. There's one ATM, outside the downtown office of my bank, that will include a Grant and a couple Lincolns into the mix. I've no idea why.

I'm afraid your currency is as lonely as Tom Jefferson's $2 bills.

Well, you'll have to wait for me to post an update if it gets hit. But I will do so, and keep a running tally of all the BB bills that get re-entered....

Right now, at MOST, only 2 of those bills have made it out into circulation so far (I know at least one of the two bills I used to buy my Pepsi hernia jug this morning was a BB bill since I saw the writing on the back when I handed it over). The rest will make it out into the world over the next couple weeks.... and even then, it may be a month or more before they start getting hits (This would be a good lesson to the newbie Georgers about just how long it takes to get those first few hits as well).....

Nobody will know what's going on with any of them until somebody logs a hit on Where's George. Beast will get an e-mail when that happens, then he'll announce the lucky winner!

Oh, I know that from how long other bills have circulated before I found and entered them.

But I still want a hit on one of my bills, nownownow!
