Looks Like Pitt
will be #1 again come Monday.
Carolina should have taken care of business, but the officiating in the UNC-Maryland game made me scream at my TV more than once. "Letting them play" is one thing. "Letting them hack the crap outta the Heels on rebounding plays" is quite another.

Re: Looks Like Pitt
I have seen none of the Best Picture nominees. Nor have I seen any of the other movies featuring Best Actor/Best Actress nominees. The only ones I've seen with any of the semi-major nominations are Tropic Thunder & Dark Knight.franktangredi wrote:I saw the header and thought this was an Oscar prediction.TheCalvinator24 wrote:will be #1 again come Monday.

I thought Pitt would be #1 irregardlessly of okie and unc losing. They are #1 in the rpi and the best team from the best conference playing their best ball right now.TheCalvinator24 wrote:will be #1 again come Monday.

I was shocked that Hansborough was called for travelling.Twice!!He had been able to catch the ball in the low post and make a reverse layup without getting called.
Wasnt marylands tallest guy 6'6?
It looks like carolina is either too soft or too many guys are looking ahead to the nba for them to win it all.I see them being vulnerable from the round of 32 on.
speaking of rebounding...Pitt is rebounding 48% of their misses. That is astounding.Much of that is taking good shots in the flow of the offense.
the rest is blair. He had 16 and 15 at the half last nite with 9 off boards.

"Best Conference" is debatable.BigDrawMan wrote:I thought Pitt would be #1 irregardlessly of okie and unc losing. They are #1 in the rpi and the best team from the best conference playing their best ball right now.
The polls don't often reflect huge jumps like you thought might come. I could have seen Pitt leap-frogging UNC, but had OU won, they would have moved up to #1, of that I am almost 100% certain.

See, Pea? Those of us who accepted the default settings have the avatar on the right, which seems perfectly acceptable to me. Calling Frank, me, and many others "Bizarro" seems heartless, judgmental, cruel, and unsubstantiated. Besides, I always had the impression that Jeemie was right of center, but I guess he's just a closet Lefty.franktangredi wrote:Not on mine! Click on "Board Preferences".
Look for "My Board Style".
And if you're using the K_Kitty board style, I believe I may puke.

winning at texas woulda helped them quite a bit
i thought they didnt play til monday v kansas
i havent looked at their record, but i dont recall them having many impressive wins
there has been a bigger spread between the #4 and #5 teams of late than the #1 and #4

Re: Looks Like Pitt
that was a good loss
a couple o guys tried to expand their roles
it dint work
i dont blame dejuan in trying that, as he doesnt know how good he is.He tried to be lebron.
i knew they were done when a 6'4 guy had a 50 foot breakaway and shot an airball layup. The ball dint slip.He fouled as the ball dribbled away.
the marquette game just got a whole lot easier

Interesting temporary anomaly - Pitt is #1 in the country but only 4th in the Big East.

There is no such thing as a good loss. Even if there was such a thing it would come against a highly ranked team. Pitt lost to an unranked Providence. That is not a good loss. And don't even think about trying to tell me what a good team Providence is.
