I thought he was great! Better than Sir Paul for rocking the house.

I was waiting for Bruuuuuuce to grab for the oxygen mask.....

There's a reason just about every other channel has halftime alternatives to the dreck the NFL has brought out since the days of Up With People....

I didn't remember Up with People at all, so I looked it up, and they didn't perform at a Broncos SuperBowl. Of course, my grandmother could have performed at the halftime of SB 12 and I probably wouldn't have remembered it -- SIL's shoe through the screen and all . . .

Kidding! She did leave around halftime to get more snacks to enjoy in the comfort of the other room, away from the television.

My youngest son was saying he'd like to see someone perform at halftime who wasn't twice his age (or older - yes, I'm talking to you, Mick Jagger! )

I don't remember Up With People from actually seeing them obviously since I was still in diapers when they were playing halftime shows, but I have heard the stories about them.....

Yes, but predictable following the Janet Jackson debacle, akin to being able to foresee Miss Utah becoming Miss America in the year following the Vanessa Williams problem. I can't recall the comic strip that recently commented about the halftime entertainment continuing in the tradition of "someone you wouldn't want to see naked".
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I actually don't remember them from the halftime shows they did for the 70s Steelers' Super Bowls (IIRC, they did X, XIII, and XIV), but I do remember them doing Super Bowl XVI up in Detroit, and sucking every bit of soul out of a string of great Motown hits.

My memory of Super Bowls goes back to Super Bowl X (bits and pieces of that one- my first complete game memories come from Super Bowl XIII).

Actually, this link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_halftime_shows

shows UWP did X, XIV, XVI, and XX.

When I was in college in the marching band, one of my fellow bandmates would gush on and on about Up With People. I could barely resist choking the life out of him the way UWP would choke the life out of every great song when he did that!
