Is everybody ready for the J! tests this week???

#1 Post by Kazoo65 » Mon Jan 26, 2009 7:48 pm

Today I got the e-mail reminding me that I'm registered to take the J! online test. I've been watching the show, and they've been promoting it for the past couple weeks.

I know what I'm doing tomorrow at 8pm EST.
I'm just a game show nerd.

I know what I'll be doing: Playing NTN. I'll do the test on Wednesday.

So, I got an answer on the J! board about how L.A. auditions work.

Even though it wasn't the answer I wanted, L.A. is still the best option for flying. I can get a flight for a reasonable price with enough notice.

So, it's either sign up for L.A. or pass on this year.

I'm still debating.

I hope I'll be taking the test. Last year we had a thunderstorm that interrupted power right in the middle of the test; this year the forecasters are predicting several inches of ice that could cause power interruptions in some areas. I just hope I'm not in one of those areas.

There is a big snowstorm coming. Well, biggish. The last biggish one actually managed to surprise them, because they thought it would be smallish.

Biggish snow isn't coming 'til dawn, & test is at 8:00pm the night before. However, I'm staying at work to take it, which means I get to catch up on part of an Episode of "The Mentalist" that got time shifted beyond the capture-time I'd set on my VCR, & otherwise doodle on the computer 'til 8:00pm.

Then I get to take test. Which last year I did not pass. Didn't pass the only in-hotel test I've taken either, though I passed the Brain Bus test before it, after failing one of those earlier too.

Then I get to rush home & circle my block in ever-widening circles looking for a parking spot on a main street that I will have to shovel myself out of as soon as the snow falls so that I will actually be able to move my car in a few days time. Before a few days time there will be no parking spaces near where I park for my 8-block walk to work, so its not worth even getting out of the space. Unless I get very snow-crazy & feel I need to drive to store not within walking distance, or something.

Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 8 pm are American Idol times! Are the Jeopardy! TPTB a bunch of Commies or something? Is this what we can expect from the failed Obama administration?

There are some things I prefer to be dumb about.....

You gonna go for 3,000 this morning, or should I go ahead and go to bed?

When I took the Jeopardy test, I just did it for funsies because I didn't think I'd actually get picked for an audition, so I just did it while I was watching tv. It's not hard and you get plenty of time.

Although if I hadn't only been paying partial attention to it I might have realized that pig doesn't start with a U, but ungulate does. Ha!

Meanwhile, us vocational class types have like three different television shows on at the same time.

I'm lucky if I can hang out on the computer and pay attention to what's on the TV at the same time.... :P

And did you ever try calling the Pop Up Video tip line to see if anyone still answered?

I don't suppose you can try to take it on Tuesday, but if something goes wrong you can try again on Wednesday? I just remember the days of the phone game where I'd make sure all the kids were occupied by dad before I dialled, and that was a lot shorter than 10 minutes.

Right now I'm dealing with dad out of town, oldest son home with a fever of 101, and youngest one probably not sick, but she did hack up dinner last night--I'm guessing (hoping) she just got something stuck in her throat.

Ten minutes can be an eternity around here...
