top o' the mornin'®

#1 Post by earendel » Fri Jan 09, 2009 6:56 am

Tomorrow evening a group from our church is going to a sister church for a chili supper and trivia night fund-raiser. This is the fourth year that that church has had this fund-raiser and our church group has won each year. It may be harder this time around, however, because the sponsoring church posted their announcement on Facebook and several other members of our church will be attending, but not as a part of our team. So the competition may be a little fiercer.

I certainly hope so - although if another team from our church wins, we still have the streak going (of a sort, at least).

My church is having a chili cook-off on the 18th. I am making the prizes -- aprons for hottest, wimpiest, and best overall. Found some hot pepper fabric. Will post a pic when they are done.

Yay! I have some too. Actually, I have been collecting some to do a string pieced table runner. Different thicknesses of strings, but I really should get around to making it.

I don't want to take my Autumn Leaves quilt off of the design wall yet. I want to finish another row first. Well, the 'row' is actually 6 rows of pieced 3 in. squares, so it is taking awhile. No sewing during the holidays, but the goal is to get the sewing room back in shape for the weekend.

That is the goal at last.
