Jack Frost
East Northport, NY
Tugboat deckhand

Meredith introduces Jack as a very fitting contestant because it's "just one week away from Christmas."

Jack was begged for his autograph after a Yankees parade by some guys who swore he was a cage fighter. They were adamant about it, so he signed the autographs and let them take pictures.

Jack has an idea that he'll do well. It's an Irish superstition that if your hand itches, you'll get some money. On Friday, his hand itched and about an hour later a producer called to ask him to come on the show.

The dreaded math question with the clock strikes again. The first thing I noticed looking at the four choices was the two octagons and four squares were the same total.
Jack was begged for his autograph after a Yankees parade by some guys who swore he was a cage fighter. They were adamant about it, so he signed the autographs and let them take pictures.
So I'll bring back my 'signature'

Looks like we now know the intended airdates of this week of shows.

Gotta love those 30-second questions that require you to do math...

A last-minute fill-in, I guess.

Well, he did come into money, but not as much as he might have liked. This looks like another instance of TDC® causing a contestant to have to hurry; with enough time he might have realized that two octagons and four squares had the same number of sides. It's a shame because he was doing well - still had all his lifelines.

My dad was somewhat overweight in the late '50s and sported a goatee. Somewhere out there is a signature of Burl Ives written by my father for a couple of women whom he could not convince that he wasn't the famous folk singer.

I'm sorry, but an inability to do simple math quickly, even under this type of pressure, is just sad. Severe case of hotseatitis and clockwatchosis would be my diagnosis.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I completely concur. 30 seconds is plenty of time to do either of the math problems from the last couple days which are both probably grade school level. It's also hard to blame TDC when both contestants left time on the clock. Can't make excuses for these people but I do feel sorry for them...

Is the number in parentheses after the answers the amount of time it took the contestant to answer?

An Irish MAWG from East Northport.

Clearly, this guy got my slot.

Or, maybe there's hope for me yet.
I am about 25% sure of this.

No, that's the time left on the clock when the contestant answers. In the event that a contestant ever makes it to the $1 million question, all of that leftover time will be added to the basic 45 seconds for answering that question.

You are way more distinguished than he.
