top o' the mornin'®
Yesterday evening my ride home was an eloquent example of why most people don't like public transportation. I had to deal with everything from a bus that didn't arrive to an overcrowded bus, an argumentative passenger, a hostile rider and a different destination than usual.

The bus route that I take has two divergent paths that it takes after leaving the downtown area. The one I use takes me to a strip mall where there is a Borders bookstore where I wait for elwing to pick me up (the nearest stop is still a mile from my house). The other path has no such interesting places to stop, so I had to exit in front of a church (again, about a mile from my house) and call elwing to tell her of the alternate pickup site.MarleysGh0st wrote:Oooooh! What a great opportunity! You'd be home in less than 20 minutes if you walked! And fulfilling your New Year resolution! And saving hydrocarbon emissions! And not taking 20 minutes out of Elwing's day! What a deal!earendel wrote:The bus route that I take has two divergent paths that it takes after leaving the downtown area. It wasn't intended to be passive. Apologies to Ear if I succeeded without trying. It was intended to be pointedly pointed. And redundant.peacock2121 wrote:Was that passive aggressive?SportsFan68 wrote:What a great opportunity! You'd be home in less than 20 minutes if you walked! And fulfilling your New Year resolution! Correct on almost every count - it's not out of elwing's way to pick me up. As for the others, although the exercise would be valuable, I'm not able to walk that far at this time due to a combination of back problems and weight issues. That's why I do the hydrotherapy at the fitness center pool. Come spring (or more realistically summer) I hope to be able to make those trips on foot.SportsFan68 wrote:What a great opportunity! Sorry, Ear -- didn't realize your health problems were that severe.earendel wrote:. . .
