Sploofus Elite League standings

#1 Post by OCDer » Mon Dec 08, 2008 3:35 pm

To qualify for this imaginary league, during the period of time that
Sploofus has become a bored 'sport' (starting April 2008) you would need to, either

a)Make the top 100 at least half the time or

b) average 25 points per month on the revised OCD weighted points scale (250 for #1, 1 for #100).

Currently 82 people meet one or both of these criteria, including 25 members of the BB league.

This weeds out the 'one hit wonders' that skew the rankings. These are those who are consistently competitive.

The top 40 as of now December 8 are

11062 carfish
11034 ne1410s - bb
10936 krinklebein
10726 tmitsss - bb
10223 theconfessor - bb
10138 dubulldog
10121 tallactor
10109 sleestak
10034 jgiven
9984 gotribego - bb
9914 jbillygirl - bb
9767 nitrah - bb
9681 wesmorgan
9631 plasticene - bb
9462 daveguth
9441 taniwha
9374 missoblivious
9347 anarchyinsk
9160 endymion
8973 barbotte - bb
8960 ritterskoop - bb
8889 koufax
8885 hcethatsme
8635 julliannars - bb
8615 killertomato - bb
8567 briggsy
8452 villiers
8437 klynb
8429 larrybus
8412 karatekai
8400 landfill
8391 tnewton
8365 yortuck
8360 bomb
8349 earendel - bb
8345 garrybl
8307 gsabc - bb
8252 gobobbygo - bb
8224 bunnythefoo
7946 asdibbens

I thought some might find this interesting.

IANAD, but I believe there a medications to help with this.

(Actually, thanks, its an interesting list)

Shoudn't Weyoun be on the list? He always seems to be near the top, and he's been playing for longer than most of us.

Weyoun and GGossage certainly qualify for OCDer's Elite League, but neither one has logged in to Sploofus since Friday, putting them three questions behind most of the rest of us for December. That's why they didn't make this top 40 list.

OCDer, I really enjoy your lists. They make Sploofusing even more fun!

Oh, I see. I thought it was supposed to be a cumulative six month ranking.

Just caught up. Still not in the Top 40. Five vocab questions this month already, and I am a bit too deliberate with them, I fear.

I am pleased to be among this elite group. Didn't think I had done well enough and consistently enough to get in.

I've missed one so far this month on a major brain cramp. Two word description of a sports item, and I focussed on the wrong word when I answered. Major dope slap for myself when I saw what I had done.

And thank you, Mr. OCDer, for doing this and the regular score tracking.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

That I am on the list at all surprises me.

That I am nearer the top than the bottom astonishes me.
I am about 25% sure of this.

I think the order reflects this months score, not the cumulative score.
Cumulative score would be impossible to calculate, given the inability to access any score below rank 100 unless it has been recorded elsewhere.

I am able to obtain cumulative scores over the e months for only 8 people, all of whom are bored members, none of which are me. Only 3 can be calculated without access to my bored records.

I must be missing something. It seems from the explanation of category (b) that anyone who has accumulated at least 200 weighted points should be on the list. There have been 8 completed months, so an average of 25 would only require a total of 200.

That would mean that anybody who finished in the top 4 any month in the range should be included for now.

As they are.

To be in the above rankings, you need to have done a or b and be among the top 40 scores this month of all who have done so.

As has been my custom of late, you will notice my absence from said ranking.

I forget -- is "elite" still something to be reviled, or did the recent election determine that "elite" is once again something to be admired?

LOL!

At least in the case of Sploofus, I aspire to some day being elitist.
