Glad to help. I'll set the VCR for Sat. @3am; I would have missed it by waiting for the Sunday morning newspaper listings.15QuestionsAway wrote:Thanks for the heads up. I had a look at TitanTV for the changes:Second Chance wrote:Great job on today's show, 15Q.
Bad news, tho, for your airings this week in L.A. The show will be pre empted on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday for basketball games on KCAL. They usually still keep them in chronological order, so your second show should air Thursday, and your third will hopefully be made up over the weekend, probably on Sunday.
Tue show: Thu 6:30 pm
Wed show: Sat 3:00 am
Thu show: Sun 1:00 pm
Fri show: Sun 1:30 pm
The last two won't be me. I know it's going to be a $100k winner - quite possibly Tom Spencer again.

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you only did half-a-day's tapings? Were you unavailable for the second half of the taping day, or were you only asked to do three shows?

The first year or two that KCAL aired SyndieBAM, they would often just drop any shows pre-empted by Lakers or Dodgers coverage. They are much better now at making them up in the wee hours or on weekends. I only remember one occasion where they aired the show out of order, and that was fairly recently. Maybe September or October.Second Chance wrote:Bad news, tho, for your airings this week in L.A. The show will be pre empted on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday for basketball games on KCAL. They've had more trouble this season because of preemptions due to the fires and last minute decisions to show the presidential debates despite sister station KCBS-2 showing them. They have been good this year when there's been advance notice of preemption, such as for the Lakers.Estonut wrote:The first year or two that KCAL aired SyndieBAM, they would often just drop any shows pre-empted by Lakers or Dodgers coverage. I've pestered KCAL's schedulers a couple of times this season asking what's happened to some episodes. They've been quite nice to me about answering questions. One thing that happens sometimes is that airtime has been sold for infomercials, and there's no slots available over late nights and weekends for short-notice rescheduling.
The 1:00-2:00 pm Sunday time seems to be their first choice for rescheduled Millionaire episodes.

Have you pestered them by phone or e-mail? I've never received a response to an e-mail about programming. I often don't notice problems until after business hours, so I can't call them.15QuestionsAway wrote:They've had more trouble this season because of preemptions due to the fires and last minute decisions to show the presidential debates despite sister station KCBS-2 showing them. I totally agree with what you've said about them doing much better, at least with the planned pre-emptions. I know we had at least 2 pre-emptions in the last year because of fire coverage.
I would just add that Saturday at 6:30PM seems to be fairly common, too. I only recall the Saturday 3:00AM slot being used 3-5 times in the last couple of years.

The shows airing this week were taped on September 17, so I only saw Ogi Ogas and Bill Nye as Experts on TV beforehand. Those two set the Expert standard quite high.
Onward to seeing you be brilliant!

A couple days ago one of the questions was "What war is said to have started in Wilbur McLean's front yard and ended in his parlour?". I knew it because of Meisha and got inordinately excited about it.

I've called them during business hours. The person that answers the phone has access to the schedule. One time when I called, we discovered an episode was missing, so I was transferred to a scheduler.Estonut wrote:Have you pestered them by phone or e-mail? I've found titantv.com quite useful for seeing when future episodes air. They're usually about 1 week ahead.

Nope. I try not to damn anyone, especially brilliant, accomplished, likable game show legends whom I consider to be my friends. I also try not to patronize anyone by pretending to be impressed by basic fifth grade knowledge. It was just a quick shout out while the show was still on the air, intended to express my confidence in Jeff's abilities and my hope that the best was yet to come.Ritterskoop wrote:Is this what they mean by "damning with faint praise"?TheConfessor wrote:I'm in the middle of watching today's episode, and...Spoiler

That is my primary source, too. Once or twice when the TitanTV schedule was missing an episode, I found them in odd (at the time) time slots on Zap2It.com.15QuestionsAway wrote:I've found titantv.com quite useful for seeing when future episodes air. They're usually about 1 week ahead.
