Tony Bennett Bay. Muir did not want construction to start until Tony's heart was located.

We have come to the end of my knowledge of San Francisco bodies of water.

I'll make something up - who knows, maybe there's a 49er Lake out there.
LOL - that is eaxactly what I did.

Figured they'd name the lake after him to shut him up..... maybe?
That sounds like it might work - "If you'll go protest somewhere else, we'll name the lake after you."

There's a couple of folks I'd be willing to name the Bored after if that would work.

It is. Well done.

Sorry, everybody! That was and is a bellwether case for tree huggers, and I was sorta thinking of Californiaites when I wrote it, but there aren't any around.

Well, since it's actually in Yosemite National Park and not San Francisco, my previous answer was better, IMHO. :P

Always good to know something I didn't before.

I just read the Wiki article, and one of Muir's objections was his prediction that the reservoir would leave what sounds like a giant bath-tub ring on the mountains.

It did.

I think Californians could have gotten it on that clue since it's been San Francisco's chief water supply for a long time. They would definitely have gotten it on the next one. Once again, I congratulate you and MsPeacock on your googling skills.
