Elusive black gown update

#1 Post by sunflower » Thu Nov 13, 2008 10:55 am

With 2 days left, I have not found anything. Lots of stuff online, but not in the stores and the likelihood of me being able to get it in one day and have it fit is virtually nonexistent.

Bridal shops in my area don't carry all the sizes for their bridesmaid/special occasion stuff so that's not an option.

I found one awesome dress, but it is red, which doesn't fit in with the black and white theme.

I am now, very sadly, moving on to formal wear consignment. I will keep you guys posted on the progress...it is definitely not looking good. Fingers crossed, please!!!! :?

Do you have time to drive to New Haven or Worchester? They might have more options.

I think you mentioned there is a dress you like at Macy's, but not your Macy's? If you are able/willing to travel, there is a Macy's at the mall in Milford, and A Macy's and Lord & Taylor at the Trumbull mall, each probably a 45 minute to one hour drive from you. Just a thought.

Thanks for the Macy's locations...yeah I had them do a printout of where it was (in my size) and it wasn't anywhere in the vicinity.

I went for a drive at lunch and found something at a little boutique about 20 minutes from my office. Had no idea it was there and got a no name but very pretty and fancy dress for only $130!!! With a little purse that was on clearance for $20. And the lady was awesome, other than the fact she's one of those "I should be in the dressing room with you to help you" shop owners. I never like that.

On to Nordstrom for shoes and since the dress was so cheap, I have a larger shoe budget!!! :D :D :D :D

Shoot, I wish I could meet up with you.

If you go tomorrow, I am taking a vacation day.

I could tell you how lovely you look in it.
