I'm sorry you failed the test, but you can try again next year. It's easy when you live in New York, and there's no prejudice against you for failing the written.Mustakrakish wrote:So my friends and I all failed the test.

Well, crap.Mustakrakish wrote:So my friends and I all failed the test.
I will echo what Marley said, though. Get back up on that horse next chance you get and give it another shot!

Basically I was owned by the pop culture section. I did know the element named after a state though.

If you decide you would like to try again next year, (and I hope you will,) you will start paying attention to portions of newspapers and telecasts in a different way. You will learn a new set of names of people with dubious achievements, and you won't care about them any more than you did in the past, but those names -- and their assignations, offspring, reality shows, music awards, clothing lines, and public spats -- will become familiar.Mustakrakish wrote:Basically I was owned by the pop culture section. You will pass next year's test.

Try the entertainment section of MSNBC. Read that each day and you'll get a great dose of pop culture! And they're nice brief articles.Mustakrakish wrote:Basically I was owned by the pop culture section. I did know the element named after a state though.
I was thinking back trying to remember the questions from my test...and the only one I can remember was "Barack Obama is a senator from what state?" This was September of last year and I vaguely remembered it and got it right, and my boyfriend got it wrong. After the test about half the people at my table were saying they got it wrong. What a difference a year makes!!!
