This is gonna sound strange, but...

#1 Post by NellyLunatic1980 » Fri Oct 31, 2008 2:00 pm

I'm going to the Moratorium Lounge® for the next 4 days. All of the political discussion on the Bored is now making me really dizzy. Literally. So starting now and going until Tuesday night, I will not post, reply to, or even read any political threads here.

I even brought a bunch of food for everybody in the ML:

--egg and bacon
--egg, sausage, and bacon
--egg and Spam
--egg, bacon, and Spam
--egg, bacon, sausage, and Spam
--Spam, bacon, sausage, and Spam
--Spam, egg, Spam, Spam, bacon, and Spam
--Spam, sausage, Spam, Spam, bacon, Spam, tomato, and Spam
--Spam, Spam, Spam, egg, and Spam
--Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, baked beans, Spam, Spam, and Spam
--lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate and brandy and with a fried egg on top and Spam

Do you like spam? You will have plenty of time to eat it if your guy wins.

Just having fun with you Nelly, it was too good of a set up to pass.

Spam sushi? What is that, raw fish with uncooked Spam?

Truth be told, I'm not a big fan of uncooked Spam.

Sounds like fun. I'll bring the booze.

So... what kind of booze goes with Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, baked beans, Spam, Spam, and Spam?

Common misunderstanding. Sushi usually involves rice. Sashimi is only the fish/seafood type not with rice. Usually people say sushi when they mean sushi and sashimi together.

A prefer Spam cooked. Usually you would cut up the spam into stick type shapes, pan fry a little and then add it to the sushi roll with any other ingredients.

Yes, it is strange. But most people would find it strange that you can get Spam and rice and eggs for breakfast at McDonald's in Hawai'i.

Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam. To the correct tune......

And lox is not sushi because lox is smoked.

About the only sushi I will/can eat is the salmon sushi, though. Or the avocado sushi, which is cheating. Salmon avocado shushi. I would eat tuna sushi if I were sure it was tuna, & not dolphin or something. I'm still recovering from whether mahi-mahi is a fish that swims with dolphins, or looks like a dolphin but it a fish, or whatever, or is really a kind of dolphin.

It is definitely NOT actual dolphin meat. I'm not sure you can eat dolphin in this country at all. Mahi-mahi is safely fishy.

I'll join you there tomorrow morning. I'm gonna pledge to not even read any political posting, either, which is really really really hard to do.

Let me help.

One name for Mahi Mahi is dolphinfish. It is not a dolphin. It is a fish. I don't know whether or not is swims with dolphins but both are in Hawaiian waters so it is possible.

It is safe to eat MahiMahi without being afraid of eating a dolphin.

Of course I would never eat it in Boston. Eat Boston kinda fish in Boston and go to Hawai'i and eat MahiMahi.

Hope that clears things up.

I don't drink anymore, but an ice-cold Bud goes great with just about anything. I've never drunk any type of alcohol at breakfast, so I don't know how it would go with the egg and bacon or the egg, sausage, and bacon. But it should go good with the egg and Spam; the egg, bacon, and Spam; the egg, bacon, sausage, and Spam; the Spam, bacon, sausage, and Spam; the Spam, egg, Spam, Spam, bacon, and Spam; the Spam, sausage, Spam, Spam, bacon, Spam, tomato, and Spam; the Spam, Spam, Spam, egg, and Spam; and the Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, baked beans, Spam, Spam, and Spam.

For the lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate and brandy and with a fried egg on top and Spam, a nice white wine would be proper. But since I don't know one white wine from another, I don't know what specific one would go with lobster. The lobster dish has brandy in it, so it has to be something that will complement the brandy.

Don't worry, any wine goes with Spam.
