CBS...

#1 Post by sunflower » Sun Oct 05, 2008 6:30 pm

Is messing with my DVR!

Why is it consistently a problem, every season, that Amazing Race cannot start at 8??? So I get 45 minutes of 60 minutes and 15 minutes of Amazing Race.

If I want to tape the rest, I either have to lose Desperate Housewives or Iron Chef America. Hmph.

Thanks for the reminder.

I always watch Iron Chef later in the week.

But the Amazing Race on delay interferes with Desparate Housewives.

That's what I'm going to have to do. At least Iron Chef is on multiple times during the week. I just hate that this always happens, and when I'm not home/watching, I miss part of the show. At least now I'll see it.

Going back to the days of "Murder, She Wrote" CBS has scheduled NFL football at 4:00 and 60 Minutes at 7:00 ET, knowing that the football almost always overruns 7:00. Recently they changed the 4:00 kickoffs to 4:15 to accomodate overruns from the earlier games, yet CBS still has 60 Minutes at 7:00.

The trick is to tune in at around 7:20 to see exactly when the football game ends and then you can calculate when AR starts...

The problem is too many conflicts in the 9:00 hour! I need AR to fit neatly in the 8 - 9 hour, or I have to start making tough decisions! DVR has spoiled me and now I want to be able to watch everything I am interested in, or I throw a hissey fit! Everyone should be so lucky to have this be their biggest problem, I know...

(This should be further explained by stating that I am an only child)

I am an only child too and have no problems at all. Just move to Canada. The Amazing Race starts at 8:00 here on the Canadian stations. It's on a different channel than football.

I also have time shifting from all over the country. I wanted to see a movie on Celine Dion's life tonight so I caught Amazing Race at 11:00 from the Vancouver station. Ya gotta love it!

I think moving to Canada would probably solve a lot of problems...

Better/cheaper health care...

Ability to watch Amazing Race, not once, but twice in a night...

Unlimited access to poutine...

(I'm guessing) much less political debate...although I'd get my fill here on the bored!

One of my friends almost moved to Canada a few years ago but moved to Europe instead. He did travel to Canada for lasik surgery before he left though!

You could do what I do - more than one DVR!

I set one up for Amazing Race and Cold Case.

The other for Cold Case, The Unit and the 11:00 news.
