-----------

Mac Kennedy, known here as MACRAE, passed away on August 17, 2025, at age 77. I met Mac in person, having had the pleasure of sitting across the table from him for a couple of sessions at a bridge tournament in Phoenix. I enjoyed the time I spent with him. Mac, whom immigrated here from Canada, is survived by his wife of 42 years and their son. --Bob

Can you find an obituary for him? I did manage to find an image of him online from a Facebook tribute, but found no other details for his memorial here...

I'll try, but I learned about his passing through Facebook so I don't know whether I'll succeed. --Bob

This is the tribute on Facebook from his wife, Mary.

But I could not find an obituary either.

In Loving Memory of Mac Kennedy.

With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved Mac passed away on August 17, 2025. He filled his life with love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and friends.

Mac was a devoted husband of 42 years to Mary and a loving father to Jarrod. His warmth, guidance, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew him. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, William and Elizabeth Kennedy, and his brother Duncan (Katlin). His love, wisdom, and sense of humor will be remembered and cherished always.

Though our hearts ache, his spirit lives on in the memories we hold and the love he gave so freely. He will forever remain in our hearts and stories.
Rest in peace, Mac. We love you always.

With love,
Mary and Jarrod

Mac and I almost met a few years back when I was in Phoenix. Darn it, the only free time I had that trip, he had a previous commitment. I would have enjoyed meeting him.

There are two things I most remember about Mac:

1) He built a WWTBAM phone a friend webpage, so all the PAF had to do was enter a few key words and the site would perform a variety of helpful search duties. I’m not sure if anyone used it in real time, but it was a dandy of a tool.

2) He absolutely destroyed the field when playing PrimeTime or any other TV related Bored challenge. He said he wasn’t a huge TV watcher, but rather an avid reader of TV Guide magazine. Regardless, rarely could I stump him.

Sorry Bob, I had to edit the tribute part into your initial post since you started the thread and I didn't want to upset the posts already in it. It's not possible to merge two threads and have a newer post on top of an older one in the thread...
