I loved this woman! We were talking about cookies in chat, and next thing you know, here's a box of oatmeal-raisin cookies in my mailbox.

A truly delightful individual.

She also sent a quilt when grandgirl was born. She was indeed a sweetie.

Mom and I visited her in Connecticut. She let us stay with her a couple of nights, and even picked us up two towns over, when I overshot the train station.

When Boonie and I were at a wedding in CT, she picked us up at the station, gave us a tour of the Long Island Sound. We had a lovely lunch.

A delightful person.

She liked to tell the story about her time as a waitress when she lit a cigarette for Joe Cocker. He said, "Thanks, love."

I try to include that response every time the Joe Cocker MM appears with a promo.

Nobody on the Bored should ever be able to look at a digital clock that reads 11:11 and not immediately think of christie. She always made it a point to wish me a happy Friday the 13th on such days, and a fun fact is that on the original incarnation of the Bored, I wound up getting Post #111111 while she got Post #131313.

She was also one half of one of the weirdest, and unfortunate coincidences I've ever been involved in. Both her and HotseatOrBust (Hottie), who lived in the same town, mailed me a package in secret, and without each other's knowledge, at the same time. Christie's box contained a handmade quilt with a squirrel pattern. Both packages got lost in the mail and I never received them...

She did eventually remake the quilt, and this time I did get it along with a surprise Snuggle Bear plush, of significance to me since I stocked the household chemicals department at the time...
