Why is our asshole president standing behind Max Miller?

The Ohio congressman very obviously beat his ex wife, who is father is a senator and friend of Trump, Bernie Moreno.

It’s embarrassing that Moreno did nothing to stop this until it became politically complicated for him, but it’s also strange that Trump didn’t jettison Miller weeks ago. It’s great for the country, in that Miller is going to lose his election, but it does suggest that Trump does not consider the beating of women something disqualifying for public office.

Well, I’ve also been to South Africa, Tanzania, and Kenya previously, and on this most recent trip I also visited Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. I deferred on visiting South Africa on this trip because I was with my family, and even back in the day, it was a place where you had to have eyes in the back of your head. Maybe that was your point.

Kind of enexpectedly-I have a trip(hunt) to South Africa planned with a friend who has the Africa bug bad (partially thanks to us). He has gone to South Africa in 25 and 26 and now probably 27.

He bought it an SCI type auction and it is to the Free State of South Africa. Not my first choice-but mine (and littlest Spock's) dream hunts in Cameroon and Mozambique are not in the cards right now. Do a Google Image search for "Niassa Inselbergs" and you will see where I want to go in Moz.

His wife doesn't want to go and as I really don't have any other guys that would like to go-I am planning to go but Mrs S will stay home.

Free State is known for being big, open country-which I will enjoy-but I like hunting in a brushier landscape.

One other guy from here will probably go at some point. He is a large farmer who employs some white South Africans which is becoming very common and they want him to go.

However, he is the kind of guy that should not do a South Africa hunt-he belongs farther north in the big wild country.

I am glad I did Zimbabwe first.

The guy I am going with used to work with Mrs Spock back in the 90's. The nature of the company was that there were a lot of younger people at about the smae stages in life and there was reunion in 2023 and we had just gotten back from SA before that-so we visited with him for quite awhile and apparently lit the fire.

Most interestingly, the company we are going with does a lot of stuff in the area of Moz that I am interested in so that will be fun to check out.

Today’s thought. We are now over 40 trillion dollars in debt, with the largest portion of that due to Donald Trump and his presidency.

The bond market doesn’t like that. They probably want less than spending but also a good leader. Asked the other day about what kind of intervention he would do for the body market, he said… The military. “And if we have to use that, we will.”

Trump's latest effort to improve affordability is slapping a 50% tariff on a bunch of Canadian goods for no apparent reason other than the fact that he doesn't like Canada. Now Canada is retaliating and the end result is... higher prices for American consumers. (I'm still not sure how these tariffs are legal when the Supreme Court ruled Trump's last round of tariffs illegal.)

Now Canada is retaliating and the end result is... higher prices for American consumers.
