Ice

My solution. Get ICE out of every identified sanctuary city and let the jenga blocks fall as they may.
If they have employees, the yes, they collect taxes (and pay part of those taxes).
It isn't. It's the fed gvt to do so. Are you retarded?
See, one of the issues is that ICE doesn’t really seem to be going after violent or dangerous criminals like bank robbers, which is another good reason local police should focus on what they are paid by local taxpayers to do.BackInTex wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 6:00 pmIf they have employees, the yes, they collect taxes (and pay part of those taxes).
O.K. What about bank robbery? You rob a bank here in Texas, and flee to Minneapolis and spread some of the money around where folks there think you're a modern day Robin Hood. The police know who you are, what you did, and where you are. O.K. for them to stay silent and do nothing?
Co-opting isn the same as cooperation.Weyoun wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 8:24 pmSee, one of the issues is that ICE doesn’t really seem to be going after violent or dangerous criminals like bank robbers, which is another good reason local police should focus on what they are paid by local taxpayers to do.BackInTex wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 6:00 pmIf they have employees, the yes, they collect taxes (and pay part of those taxes).

I continue to be confused at folks who supposedly love liberty being completely cool with the Feds just coopting local LEOs whenever they feel like it
You got me interested, and yes, the numbers are in the thousands.
Or, now stay with me, if the locals cooperated and handed over the criminals instead of turning them loose, there'd be less need to go into immigrant neighborhoods to find them!jarnon wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 9:37 pmYou got me interested, and yes, the numbers are in the thousands.
5% of People Detained By ICE Have Violent Convictions, 73% No Convictions
If ICE concentrated on those, instead of spreading a dragnet on immigrant neighbourhoods, they’d get much more cooperation from local cops and fewer protests.
Really? Both of you must be gasping for oxygen.Weyoun wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 8:21 pmIs your oxygen off? I was giving a rhetorical response to BiT above.
Again, it’s not the state or city responsibility to enforce federal immigration law. If Colorado Springs decided to become a libertarian utopia and told everyone that they didn’t have to pay federal taxes, it’s still up to the IRS to come to arrest those people.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 8:10 amReally? BiT was saying why should 'sanctuary' just be given to illegal aliens? Why not have sanctuary cities for people who don't want to pay taxes? Sanctuary for draft dodgers, Sanctuary for bank robbers. Sanctuary for anything the left doesn't want to comply with the law for? You want to go along with that?
C'mon people.
Ooh, alllmost there.. it would be up to the IRS to arrest tax dodgers. They've done it for years with cooperation from local law enforcement. The FBI has conducted investigations and made arrests for years, with cooperation from local law enforcement. Annnd..typing slowly here, it's up to ICE to arrest those violating immigration laws. It's been done for years, with cooperation of local law enforcement. Right up until the Left began exploiting illegal immigration and realized how easy it is to manipulate weak-minded foolsWeyoun wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 8:00 pmAgain, it’s not the state or city responsibility to enforce federal immigration law. Another aspect is that there is a moral dimension to this that you continue to miss. Some people oppose this because hard-working, law abiding people are being picked up. So when you make all these comparisons you also ignore the moral revulsion people have toward this policy - nevermind it being counterproductive.
Why don’t you read some of these studies from the Cato Institute? Our government is taking away net contributors to our society to placate losers like yourself and racist bunker creeps like blackhole.
Lots of “no shit!” there - I would complain, but the fact that you got something more or less correct for once really is actually quite laudatory.tlynn78 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 8:48 pmOoh, alllmost there.. it would be up to the IRS to arrest tax dodgers. But - typing this slowly - local and state governments are under zero obligation to do the work of the federal government.
Does ICE need to be kidnapping kids? Polls are saying "no," which is why that's happening.tlynn78 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 04, 2026 8:25 amWeyoun wrote: ↑Wed Feb 04, 2026 2:18 amLots of “no shit!” there - I would complain, but the fact that you got something more or less correct for once really is actually quite laudatory.tlynn78 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 8:48 pm

Are they under any obligation to arrest people destroying property? Committing criminal endangerment? Illegally blocking traffic and detaining people? Deliberately obtuse isn't a good look, but you wear it comfortably.
No they don't need to do that silly. Good thing they are not.Weyoun wrote: ↑Wed Feb 04, 2026 11:59 amDoes ICE need to be kidnapping kids? Polls are saying "no," which is why that's happening.tlynn78 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 04, 2026 8:25 amWeyoun wrote: ↑Wed Feb 04, 2026 2:18 am

Now answer the previous question you are deflecting yourself from.
