Hey, Little Timmy-Have You Thought About Logistics?
Especially in the depths of a Minnesota winter.
Our Minnesota governor, Little Timmy Walz, is talking big about a Fort Sumter moment.

>>>"Minnesota Governor Tim Walz worries that the violence in his state could produce a national rupture. “I mean, is this a Fort Sumter?”
Easy answer-Timmy-it won't. But he surely talks (and apparently thinks) big for somebody who really only controls a small heavily-populated (with attendant supply needs) blue island surrounded by hundreds of miles of red territory.
Let's see-He has Minneapolis, St. Paul, the inner suburbs and some affluent suburbs with solid red country starting just a few miles from Minneapolis-including western Hennepin County (with Minneapolis in the easter part of Hennepin.
Not many from the red areas are going to fight for Little Timmy and, if forced to choose, will fight against him.
Whatever grandiose aspirations he has (or irreversible actions he takes)-his first concern as a leader (LOL) better be concerned with figuring out how to keep the power, water, food etc flowing to his vulnerable island considering they flow through hundreds of miles of red territory.
As Napoleon said>>“The amateurs discuss tactics: the professionals discuss logistics.”
Oh, and Timmy-most of the Minnesota National Guard is not going to be on your side.

Re: Hey, Little Timmy-Have You Thought About Logistics?
Walz was not talking about Minnesota or just the Minneapolis area seceding from the United States. We've gotten well past the days of state vs. state in the Civil War era. What he's referring to is a galvanizing of public opinion, which happened in 1861 to fall more or less along state lines, but is now falling more or less along party lines.
In the last month, public opinion has shifted hard against Trump and Trumpism, especially on immigration issues, which were his strongest issue with much of the public. (He gave up trying to convince people the economy was going better months ago.) The number of prominent ex-Republicans is growing rapidly, people like George Conway and former Ga. Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan, who are running for office as Democrats. And those changes are showing up in polls and, more importantly, at the ballot box.
While you're sitting there fantasizing about how much trouble Walz will have bringing in supplies past your farm, his "forces" have already won a significant victory this weekend, deep in the heart of "enemy" territory. There was a special election for a State Senate seat in Texas last night in a district that Trump won by 17 points in 2024 and the previous Senator (who resigned the seat to become state comptroller) won by 20 points. The seat is in Tarrant County (Ft. Worth), but includes many of the northern, normally Republican suburbs. The Democratic candidate, a labor leader with no prior elective experience, won by 14 points, over a 30 point turnaround in one year.
And this wasn't a sparsely publicized election that caught the Republicans napping either. The Republican candidate is a conservative activist and executive at Patriot Mobile, which describes itself as a conservative cell phone service and also markets a lot of other "Patriot" survivalist products like freezedried foods and emergency generators. She outspent her Democratic opponent 10-1 and Donald Trump made three separate social media get-out-the-vote posts just before election day. The same two candidates will square off again in November for a full four-year Senate term.
The revolution is taking place right under your nose, and you won't see it coming barreling down the highway from North Dakota.

I was wondering when you would pop your head up to comment on the government murdering your neighbors. Walz was speaking out of anxiety, because he doesn't want that, while you fetishize the idea of getting to shoot people who disagree with you.

SSS doesn’t suggest a repeat of the Revolutionary War, any more than Walz contemplates a new Civil War. They mean that the Democrats embody the ideals of Washington and Lincoln, while the Republicans are like Parliament under George III.

I’m with Walz and SSS on this. Good that we can respectfully disagree without fighting it out.Beebs52 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 5:09 pmI respectfully disagree, unless you're jackin with me, in which case, kudos.

I think both parties are screwed up, don't adhere to any particular philosophy and leaders are all suckups for their own benefit, whether psychological, political or monetary.
Not that I'm cynical...
