Trump Plans 250-Foot Tall Washington DC Arch

To be named the Independence Arch (unless some flunkies insist on naming it the "Donald Trump Independence Arch" which is likely to happen). The Arch would be on a small plot of National Park Service land between Arlington National Cemetery and the Lincoln Memorial and would obstruct the views of each. By means of comparison, the Arc de Triomphe in Paris is 164 feet tall, and the Lincoln Memorial is 100 feet tall. (The Gateway Arch in St. Louis at 630 feet is the world's tallest arch.) Not surprisingly, most architects and preservationists don't like the idea, on top of the White House Ballroom.
