Not a big surprise. I suspect she had some pretty goofy views, but she was a marine, and someone that they could offer up as an immigrant who “did it the right way.”
But Youngkin who was elected on racial and transgender paranoia, and that doesn’t carry over at this point. When given a chance to elect a Trumper or avoid voting for a black person, Virginia racists opted for the latter.

So the fact that Virginia is home to hundreds of thousands of federal employees who have been laid off, furloughed or forced to work without pay, plus their families and the small businesses that rely on them, is irrelevant.
Plus Spanberger, like Sherrill in NJ, ran a straightforward moderate campaign. Democratic Socialism may be catchy in NYC but not Virginia.
In her acceptance speech she thanked her family. To her daughters: “You inspire me and motivate me every single day. Everything I do, I do to build a better future for all of Virginia’s children, and I’m so proud of you. And Catherine, you did not clean your room today as you promised me.”
“I’m working on it!”
“She’s working on it. If I was working on it, we wouldn’t have won the election, OK?”
Harris would rehearse an ad-lib like that for days.

Federal immigration officers in Los Angeles arrested a U.S. citizen during a raid outside a Home Depot store, then two of them got into his car and drove off with the man’s toddler strapped into a car seat in the back, advocates and family said Wednesday, decrying the action.
A video shot by a member of the Los Angeles Rapid Response Network, an immigrant advocacy coalition, shows the man with his hands behind his back and leaning up against his car before being escorted away as two masked agents with helmets and bulletproof vests get into the car and drive away. The man’s 1-year-old daughter appears in a blurred image strapped in a car seat in the back.
People are seen filming the agents in the car and are heard yelling “there’s a baby in the back!” as the agents drive away.
“It was a dangerous act to have armed men get in a car with that child and remove her from the situation,” said Lindsay Toczylowski, co-founder of Immigrant Defenders Law Center. The firm, which handles immigration cases, was contacted by community members for help reuniting the family, but isn’t representing the man because he is American, she said.
Toczylowski said the girl’s relatives later picked up the child from federal offices in Los Angeles.
Let's break this down...
US Citizens are arrested all the time.
It would be in child's best interest not to leave it strapped in its car seat and abandon the car while the parent is taken away. Agree?
Now, the issue...was the arrest of the parent warranted? We don't know.
Is it f***ed up like you claim? Maybe, if there wasn't any or enough cause to arrest the parent. Perhaps the US citizen parent was a coyote, or harboring or even holding others against their will. That does happen.
