It's lovely to have a nonscientist trash funding for mRNA vaccines.
Our son is a project mgr for a biotech that develops and produces such things. Plasmid dna stuff, etc. He isn't pleased.

Yeah, give it all back to Fauci.

A possibly related story: A gunman opened fire near CDC HQ and Emory University in Atlanta. A courageous policeman, David Rose, lost his life confronting the attacker.

How is it related?

The suspect sprayed four CDC buildings with bullets. His father told police he had become fixated on the COVID-19 vaccine, which he believed made him ill and suicidal. According to a neighbor, he was very unsettled, and he very deeply believed that vaccines hurt him and were hurting other people.
The officer is a Marine veteran and a rookie cop. He has two children, and his wife is expecting their third child.

I'd be Ok with that. God forbid we have someone with training and knowledge in health care and disease in charge of American health care policy.

Fauci did make some mistakes from the public relation side during the Covid crisis. However, back in the late 80s, he pushed for one very particular approach to antiretroviral medications. This was among us of naysayers and different people pushing back for other therapies or even to do nothing, since the people who got AIDS “deserved it” and “that’s not my problem.”
Anyway, he was right. Antiretroviral therapies developed during that time and the reason why HIV is no longer deaf sentence.
We are now killing even more promising mRNA in its cradle.

We learned a lot about mRNA during the SARS epidemic of 2003. I was glad we were using it to attack cancer and other things.
