Inflation Hits the Panda Express

For some time, I've eaten takeout from the local Panda Express 2-3 times a month. It meets both my requirements for haute cuisine: cheap and large portions. For a couple of years, their prices had remained steady at $8.50/$10.00/$11.50, depending on whether you wanted 1, 2, or 3 entree portions with your meal. Appetizers like egg rolls were $2.00.

Now, thanks to Donald Trump's tariffs, their prices have gone crazy. The cheapest bowl is still $8.50, but the medium box is now $10.10 and the large box is $11.70. The appetizers have gone up to $2.10 as well. That means that the cost of my dinner is going up 10 to 30 cents, depending on how hungry I am. Drink prices may have gone up as well, but I don't buy drinks there, so I wouldn't know.

I blame Donald Trump. And Flock.

Brace yourself, SSS. A 25% tariff on Chinese imports is about to start. And if Putin remains unreasonable and China keeps importing Russian oil, the punitive tariff on China could be even higher. All the food at Panda Express is from China, right?

OMG!

Maybe they should buy locally produced eggrolls.
