Are we going to talk about the jet?

#1 Post by elwoodblues » Thu May 15, 2025 12:06 pm

When a US President who is not exactly known for his ethics accepts a lavish gift from a country like Qatar, whose motives are suspect at best, shouldn't that raise a few eyebrows?

Who is going to pack up the Statue of Liberty?

The Statue of Liberty, as you know, was a gift to the country, and not something the president got to keep

I'm sure you and your ilk will talk about the jet incessantly. Only because you don't want to talk about the hundred other things that show the democrats are completely corrupt, hate America and are feeding off the taxpayer trough and have been for just about as long as I've been alive. You never wanted to talk about the millions Hunter got from Burisma, did you? Yet you'll talk about this. But you know what? Nobody is listening to you anymore. You've made yourself into cartoon characters.

Knock yourself out. We know it's all you have. Your hatred of Trump.

PS: Do you want to talk about 8647?

Hunter Biden was never Presidentt of the United States. Moreover, do you think it's purely coincidence that the Trump family business are planning major construction projects in every country he has visited on this trip?

Because people like you are inferior thinkers, you think this is some sort of game, Democrats versus Republicans, rather than what is best for Americans. Our country certainly does deserves better than having someone like Hunter Biden at the periphery making money. But even more so, when the president and his entire family are making huge amounts of money while asking Americans to cut back, pay more for dolls, and deal with fewer services - that’s deeply unacceptable

The biggest evidence that you are anti-American is all this stuff is happening, and you only talk about what Democrats post on Instagram. You have no credibility or integrity, whitefailure. You care about Republicans beating Democrats in elections, not what actually is done by those Republicans, or what happens to our country.

If only they'd given it to Don Jr. in exchange for a poem or two, it would be o.k. Right?

BTW, the gift was to the US, not Trump. He's playing you all.

You can pull your head out of the sand now, but back when it was buried Hunter Biden received millions for things he wasn't qualified for from countries his father had policy influence over. Yeah, he wasn't president. And neither is the Trump family business.

And to be clear, I'm not in approval of Qatar gifting a plane to the President, nor him personally keeping it. My comments are just to highlight the hypocracy of those slamming Trump, but where "meh" to Hunter's dealings (Burisma, Moscow mayor wife, art sales, etc.).

They can slam him all they want, it's literally all they have to cling to their death grip on their false conviction that he's the anti-christ. I am amused that people being concerned that the president is openly receiving a bribe (that seems impractical and fraught as a security risk, to boot), is somehow insane in your world view.

I think what Hunter did was suspicious and wrong.

So, when Trump does something far worse, it's not really hypocritical of me to point that out.

If Trump murdered a kid, would that be okay if Hunter Biden had done it also? Have a few principles.

Apparently no one else does, so I'll do it. You are referring, of course, to the Instagram post by former FBY Director James Comey. The post was a picture of seashells arranged to form 86 47, and Comey's comment about it being "interesting". This led to Homeland Security Secretary Noem calling for an investigation, saying that Comey was threatening the president. Comey later removed the post and said that he didn't realize that it could be associated with violence.

OK, now that we have the exposition out of the way, let's get into the heart of the matter. Should Comey have understood the potential for violence in that post? Yes, he should have. As a former FBI director I find it hard to believe that he would not be aware that "86" was a synonym for "doing away with". However "86" doesn't always mean violence - Matt Gaetz used "86" in referring to three GOP leaders he didn't like, and a MAGA podcaster, Jack Posobiec tweeted simply "86 46", something which became popular to display on T-shirts. Were either of these individuals investigated? They were not. Clearly most people understood this to mean "impeach", not "kill". But because of Trumps animus toward Comey, it becomes a matter for an investigation, as if he might really pose a threat to the president.

'Clearly most people'?

You must have forgotten about the guy at Butler PA and the one at the W Palm Beach golf course. It's concerning to people who don't have TDS why we know next to nothing about either of these assassins. And for a high profile person like Comey to casually post something like that is a testimony to the two tier system of justice and the utter hypocrisy of our media. If Comey wasn't a swamp creature, he'd be in jail as we speak, just like Navarro, Bannon, Peters and all the J6 political prisoners were.

It is inexplicable that someone as seemingly intelligent as you can give any credibility to the main stream legacy media that has been lying to you for years and continues to lie to you about Biden's medical and mental condition. Why you take anything they tell you seriously is beyond my comprehension.

James Comey 5/15/25: "Cool shell formation on my beach walk." (accompanied by shells forming the numbers 8647)

Jack Posobiec 1/29 22 (3.1 million followers on Twitter, retweeted 496 times): "86 46"

Could you point out the difference between these two posts? And is everyone selling "86 46" or "86 47" merchandise on numerous mainstream websites including Amazon also advocating the assassination of public figures? (You can bet that Amazon would have removed T-shirts or caps saying "Assassinate Biden" or "Assassinate Trump" in a hurry.) And can you point to a single instance in which 86 45, 86 46, or 86 47 has been shown to have been used as an incitement to political violence?

P.S.: Jack Posobiec 5/15/25 (on Twitter): "The fmr director of the FBI is calling for left-wing assassins to target our president and kill him. Have no idea why he hasn't been arrested yet."

Wow, you're back? I am actually glad you are feeling good enough to post drivel once again.

Before we get into new territory, perhaps you'd like to comment on your take on Joe Biden's 'stuttering' issue. God bless the guy and I pray for his recovery from his cancer. But you have some 'splainin' to do.

I look at Biden not so much as a villian (which he is), but as an unwitting victim. WHO WAS ACTUALLY RUNNING THE COUNTRY FOR HIS 4 YEAR TERM, SSS? It is telling that all these 'experts' that you continually quoted, like Jake Tapper, are now writing frickin books about how Biden was not fully there and they were 'tricked'. But do they name who 'tricked' them? Not that I have heard. Are you sticking with all the quotes I could go back and post chastising me for pointing out that Biden was senile?

So are you going to cover for Comey the same weaselly way you covered for Biden?

Thanks for the kind wishes.

Posts like yours are why I didn't want to get back into the political lounge, and why I'm leaving for now after this post (unless I stupidly put another movie post here instead of the main bored). I don't want to get bogged down in time-consuming tit-for-tats.

I replied to your comment about Comey: "If Comey wasn't a swamp creature, he'd be in jail as we speak." I asked several questions, none of which I got an answer to. Instead, I got one of your usual diatribes about Biden and whether or not he was all there. That has nothing to do with Comey's post or Jack Posobiec's post or the merchandise that's being sold on Amazon or a lot of other similar things I could have brought up in response but didn't.

I'm interested in any reply to my actual comment you might make.

Posobeic is a political commentator. Comey is a former FBI chief who has a significant following among your ilk.

How many attempts were there on Biden's or Harris's lives?

How many high-profile conservatives are wishing Biden will die from his cancer?

How many high-profile leftists have called for, both literally and implied, Trumps death?

There is a difference. You are the one who was doing tit-for-tats.

I guess you don't want to face your own hypocrisy on the Biden issue, because it may cause you to have to reconsider a lot of your assumptions about me and about Trump and about conservatives in general. But you do what is best for you.

It is not really clear what crime James Comey committed. If whitefailure could show us a statute and explain how this vague Instagram post met the threshold of it, I’d be interested in that, but as always, he’s big on talking and little on actual detail. Also, a lot of cunty dramatics. See the whole election stolen thing. Still waiting on them deets!

Wow, you're back? I am actually glad you are feeling good enough to post drivel once again.

I’m trying to piece this together. You’re saying that someone had a complete plan to assassinate the president, but was only holding off until the former Director of the FBI gave the go ahead using a vague Instagram post? And that the issue was so critical, instead of not talking about it, as talking about it constantly might give someone the idea of hurting the president, you insist on talking about it all the time?

This may be your most stupid comment this month.

Not really clear what crime Comey committed?
How about this one?
From Wikipedia:
Threatening the president of the United States is a federal felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871.[1][2][3][4] It consists of knowingly and willfully mailing or otherwise making "any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict great bodily harm upon the president of the United States". The law also includes presidential candidates, vice presidents, and former presidents.
I think Comey should be arrested and let the courts decide. That is what happened to these less prominent people who did their threats a bit less publically:

Convictions under 18 U.S.C. § 871 have been sustained for declaring that "President Wilson ought to be killed. It is a wonder some one has not done it already. If I had an opportunity, I would do it myself";[15] and for declaring that "Wilson is a wooden-headed son of a bitch. I wish Wilson was in hell, and if I had the power I would put him there."[16] In a later era, a conviction was sustained for displaying posters urging passersby to "hang [President Franklin D.] Roosevelt".[17]

In 1935, 52-year-old Austin Phelps Palmer, a mechanical engineer, wrote two letters to President Roosevelt, blaming him for the loss of his $1 million fortune. In one letter, he wrote, "Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Communist and destroyer of private business. I warn you, if you destroy my business I will strangle you with my own hands. May your soul be exterminated in hell." Months later, newspapers reported that a dumbfounded Palmer was arrested after federal agents, who'd spent months tracking him down, showed up at the doorstep of his luxury apartment. His servant accompanied him to his arraignment, where he was charged with sending threatening letters to the President. Palmer pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

A number of Nazi sympathizers were prosecuted for threatening Roosevelt. In 1940, Edward De Roulhac Blount was arrested for saying he would kill the president at the first opportunity he got. He pleaded guilty to two counts of threatening the president and was sentenced to two to six years in prison. Federal prosecutors found two birthday greetings to Adolf Hitler on Blount's yacht.[20][21] In 1943, William Thomas Reid, a known Nazi sympathizer, was arrested for telling an associate in the oil business, "President Roosevelt is one guy I hate. If I had the money, I would go to Washington and kill the president and if he ever comes south I will." Reid was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in prison.

In 2007, Purdue University teaching assistant Vikram Buddhi was convicted of posting messages to Yahoo Finance criticizing the Iraq War and stating, "Call for the assassination of GW Bush" and "Rape and Kill Laura Bush". The defense had argued that the defendant never explicitly threatened anyone.[26] He was imprisoned for 4 years and 9 months, and deported to India upon his release.

In 2010, Johnny Logan Spencer Jr. was sentenced in Louisville, Kentucky, to 33 months in prison for posting a poem entitled "The Sniper" about the president's assassination on a white supremacist website. He apologized in court, saying that he was, as WHAS news put it, "upset about his mother's death and had fallen in with a white supremacist group that had helped him kick a drug habit."

In 2010, Brian Dean Miller was sentenced in Texas to 27 months in prison for posting to Craigslist: "People, the time has come for revolution. It is time for Obama to die. I am dedicating my life to the death of Obama and every employee of the federal government. As I promised in a previous post, if the health care reform bill passed I would become a terrorist. Today I become a terrorist."

In 2017, Stephen Taubert, a 59-year-old Air Force veteran and resident of Syracuse, New York, called the office of Senator Al Franken and, in a rant full of racial slurs, said he was going to "hang" former President Barack Obama.[37] On April 29, 2019, United States District Court Judge Glenn T. Suddaby sentenced him to federal prison for 46 months for that crime and for making threats against the life of Congresswoman Maxine Waters and her staff. His sentence came six weeks after a jury found him guilty of threatening to kill a former United States president, transmitting a threat in interstate commerce and making a threat to influence, impede or retaliate against a federal official.[38] At his sentencing, Taubert said "I'm sorry for the offensive language. That's all it was. It does get me upset when I listen to the news and they attack [President Donald Trump]. He's a good person and he's done a lot for this country and the veterans."[39] After his sentencing, Grant C. Jaquith, the United States attorney for the Northern District of New York, said in a statement, "Racist threats to kill present and former public officials are not protected free speech, but serious crimes.

In August 2023, firearms collector and former welding inspector Craig Robertson threatened to assassinate President Joe Biden and the Manhattan D.A. in multiple posts made on Facebook. He was killed while a search warrant was being served by FBI agents on his home.

PS: Do you want to talk about 8647?

Both of those incidents took place long before the Comey post, and psychotic people don't need encouragement. As I said, I find it hard to believe that Comey wouldn't have understood the significance of "86 47", but it doesn't NECESSARILY mean that whoever arranged the shells was calling for assassination. "86" meaning "get rid of" could just mean impeachment.

It is inexplicable that someone as seemingly intelligent as you can give any credibility to the main stream legacy media that has been lying to you for years and continues to lie to you about Biden's medical and mental condition. Why you take anything they tell you seriously is beyond my comprehension.
Didn't you post in another thread that we should just leave Biden alone? As for credibility, did I state anything that was other than fact with respect to the actual incident? The "lamestream media" reported it and the call for an investigation. Should Comey be investigated? Maybe. But then so should those who used "86" with reference to Biden. Or are you suggesting that "my side" is too stupid to understand nuance?

Yes, most of your side seem to have no idea of context or semantics. The rest of your side manipulate them by playing with nuance.
Didn't you post in another thread that we should just leave Biden alone?
I think by this comment you are somewhat in the former category. Where do you see me attacking Biden on this subject?
