These absurd tariff figures are made up - they have no bearing in reality, nor are they actually reciprocal.

He’s going to send the country into a deep recessions and perhaps the world also.

He’s mentally unfit, but unfortunately, the Republican the progress don’t have any sense and will not stop him. Speaker Johnson is a limp noodledick of a man.

It’s sad that we have to suffer due to this man’s stupidity, but maybe as a country, we forced ourselves into this. We have given a lot of bad people the motivation and ability to act badly.

Gee, maybe that's what happens when a psychopath who's gone bankrupt six times runs the country.

I also appreciate your honesty that you don't really understand things.

Trump has never gone bankrupt.

I’m sure you have some sort of way you can weasel out of this by stating that he did not personally do so, just the business that he was in charge of did so. But I’m not worried about him personally bankrupting himself - too many goobers like whitefailure are around to by his Chinese made Bibles. I’m worried he may fuck the country up like he fucked up multiple businesses.

I concede that Trump has personally not filed for bankruptcy. But since six of his businesses have, I’m not really sure why it matters.

Donald Trump personally has never filed for bankruptcy.

However, six of his businesses (as of the most widely cited count) have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. These filings were strategic restructurings of debt—not personal bankruptcy—and allowed the businesses to continue operating while repaying creditors under new terms.

Here are some of the notable ones:

Trump Taj Mahal (1991)

Trump Castle (now Golden Nugget Atlantic City) (1992)

Trump Plaza Hotel (1992)

Plaza Hotel in NYC (1992)

Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts (2004)

Trump Entertainment Resorts (2009)

Trump Entertainment Resorts (2009)
Bill Gates has filed three times (twice in the past two years)
Optim Energy:
An energy company owned by a Bill Gates investment fund filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2014, citing losses in a depressed power market.
Ambri:
A battery technology company backed by Bill Gates' venture investment firm Gates Frontier filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2024, citing challenges in fundraising and disputes with a landlord and construction contractor.
Biomilq:
A breast milk startup, also backed by Bill Gates, filed for bankruptcy in 2025

Henry Ford filed twice
Detroit Automobile Company (1899-1901):
In 1899, Ford, along with others, founded the Detroit Automobile Company, but the company struggled financially and only produced 20 vehicles. The company went bankrupt in 1901.
Henry Ford Company (1901):
After the Detroit Automobile Company's bankruptcy, Ford attempted to relaunch his company under the name "Henry Ford Company". However, he again faced financial difficulties, and the company ultimately went bankrupt.

Michael Dell twice
Noble Environmental Power LLC Bankruptcy:
In 2016, Noble Environmental Power LLC, a wind-energy company backed by Michael Dell, filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11. MarketWatch reported that the company was restructuring its debt.
Waypoint Leasing, a company in which Michael Dell's investment firm MSDC Waypoint Investors, LLC, had equity, also filed for bankruptcy in 2018.

The Trump Organization is an American conglomerate. Privately owned by Donald Trump, it serves as the holding company for most of Trump's business ventures and investments, with around 250 of its affiliates and subsidiaries using the Trump name.

Only 6 of more than 250 business.....I'm not sure why it matters. Other than he's Trump.

Yes, comparing him to Henry Ford.

That’s the thing. Trump goes bankrupt with casinos and bicycle races, and cheap airlines.

Ford revolutionized an industry. Bill Gates revolutionized an industry.

It’s very true that if Trump has taken his inheritance and put it in the S&P 500, he would’ve had much more money today.

But he’s not an ideas man. He’s not a job creator. He’s basically a con man who tries to make money off real estate deals, and various scams, and sometimes it doesn’t work out.

One problem with his approach lately is that he actually doesn’t know how a business runs. He doesn’t understand supply chain, and things like that. So of course he would be confused by all this, assuming he’s just not manipulating the market so that his various entities (Truth Social there is something only worth anything because he is attached to it) can get pumped and then dumped.

Really? Where do you make that assessment? From your personal knowledge of runnning a business, or knowledge of supply chain? Or just from your media sources? Bernie?

Yes, so let's look had who you would vote for....
Bernie? Because socialism is your economic model of choice?
Kamala? Because of her vast experience running....what?
Biden 2020? Who, now even Jake Tapper admits he was covering for his senility?

Yep, winners, each of them. You are making great choices for running, er, ruining the country.

What he actually does for business. He’s always been a real estate guy, before going into self-promotion. And when he does need to sell something, he gets it cheap, from China or Bangladesh. Go figure.

Never said that. I said it’s a particular line of business, but it’s also more resistant to things like tariffs. But even that will have problems once you make raw materials, more expensive, and put every brown looking person in a Salvadoran prison without due process
