Oregon mental health advisory board includes member who identifies as terrapin species
I'm sure some here that are O.K. with this, but they/them are insane.
A member of a state panel advising the director of Oregon's Health Authority (OHA) on best practices and policies in mental health identifies as a "turtle."
JD Holt, who also goes by "JD Terrapin" on Facebook, is one of roughly two dozen "consumers" on the OHA's Consumer Advisory Council (OCAC). The council, established by administrative statute, is appointed by OHA Director Dr. Sejal Hathi, who was appointed by Gov. Tina Kotek, a Democrat.
The purpose of the OCAC is to advise Hathi on the state's provision of mental health services, including through investigations and reviews of current practices.
This is right up there with Iran being a member of the UN Committee on Human Rights a few years ago.

No doubt JD needs help. So much so, JD can't really determine how that help should be delivered or managed as JD is not mentally in the real world. Perhaps the committee should be made up of caretakers or concerned family members, or at least people deemed competent and of right mind. Yeah, I know, lots of folks will say JD IS of right mind, but clearly that is not the case. The care JD would ask you and I to pay for would be to help JD continue the fantasy that JD is a turtle.
