Trump does not believe in free speech

Remember, a snowflake talking point was that Biden was stopping free speech by stopping some silly parent complaining at a school board meeting about the transgender’s, or something. Examples were actually pretty far and few between, but for the sake of argument, I will concede that prosecuting that doctor in Texas, who exposed private patient information, or going after mom complaining at a school board, probably is not within the purview of the federal government, and we have much more important things to do.
With that established, what about this?

I assume he means going after protesters in favor of Palestinian independence. But this also could reflect his opinions of the Black Lives Matter movement.
To you pieces of shit that always defend him: how do you square this proposed naked violation of the First Amendment with your supposed libertarian beliefs? Also, what is his legal authority to do this?

All I can say is he says “illegal protests”. So being illegal, for whatever reason, probably occupation of buildings, blocking public access to roads or buildings, etc. should be dealt with accordingly. It’s not the speech or message being punished but the illegal delivery methods. Beyond that, let them protest. Same goes for folks protesting abortion clinics that the Biden admin arrested and charged.

Is there a federal law against occupying a college building?

I don't know, but if federal funds are used to pay for that building then if it is not being used for purposes agreeable to the federal government, they have the right to suspend that funding. Previous administrations have held federal funds over all sorts of entities that are complying with whatever the PTBs at the time wished.

Is occupying campus buildings permitted under the First Amendment?
No. While viewed by many as an act of civil disobedience, it does constitute trespassing, which is conduct that is not protected by the First Amendment.

Is occupying a school building the business of the federal government? Probably not, especially since the federal government has decided that monitoring the weather isn’t.
But of course, since this is ultimately about Israel and Palestine, and Trump and his donors favor Israel, he’s going to intervene here. And that does make it a first amendment violation. When you’re blocking peaceful protests based on what folks are protesting, you’re showing viewpoint discrimination, in violation of our great constitution. HTH.

Trump characterizes supporting Palestine as promoting terrorism, and favoring Israel as protected speech (even though there are also a few Israeli terrorists in the West Bank).

Hamas and most Palestinians loudly support the extermination of the Jewish people. They are free to peacefully protest about whatever they want, but occupying college campii, assaulting Jewish students etc are not peaceful. I have not heard of any Jewish protesters taking over colleges or assaulting other students. Have you?
The same thing should be done with climate idiots blocking highways.
