The More You Know - USAID

Ron Paul Calls Out 'Immoral' and 'Dangerous' Scheme Operated by USAID in Ukraine
Paul called USAID “a key component of the U.S. government’s ‘regime change’ operations worldwide.”

“USAID spends billions of dollars every year propping up NGOs overseas that function as shadow governments, eating away at elected governments that U.S. interventionists want to overthrow. Behind most U.S. foreign policy disasters overseas you will see the fingerprints of USAID. From Ukraine to Georgia and far beyond, USAID is meddling in the internal affairs of foreign countries — something that would infuriate Americans if it was happening to us,” he said.
After Trump froze USAID’s cash, “we quickly learned just how pernicious the agency really is,” he said.

“The U.S. media reported that Ukrainian press outlets were scrambling to keep their doors open when the U.S. dollars stopped flowing. It is reported that 90 percent of the media outlets are funded by the U.S. government!” he said.
“This means there is virtually no independent media in Ukraine, only fake news outlets willing to toe the U.S. administration’s propaganda line. Does anyone think these wholly U.S.-funded ‘news’ outlets would ever publish a story the U.S. government did not want published?” he said.

“This is plainly immoral, but it is also dangerous,” Paul said.
“Most U.S. mainstream media stories about Ukraine have their origin in the reporting of the local media. From battlefield news to casualties to the state of the Ukrainian military, the news from Ukraine is being written by U.S. government-backed media outlets and then picked up by U.S. and other Western media,” he said.
Reporters Without Borders noted that “in Ukraine … 9 out of 10 media outlets rely on USAID funding.”

Uganda woman on USAID.

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/ ... -usaid.php

>>>"I don’t know who this young woman from Uganda is, but she makes more sense than the entire Democratic House and Senate caucuses combined. I find it interesting that President Trump’s temporary pause in foreign aid spending has brought some foreign voices out of the woodwork, saying, yes: USAID’s spending is riddled with fraud and political corruption, and as a result is at best a mixed blessing for recipient countries:"<<<
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I simply can't believe that we are in a place where a significant portion of the US TBTB and populace will not admit that there is/was fraud, waste and corruption in 3rd World countries that are recipients of USAID.

Hell, without knowing the specifics, I have taken that as a given for years and, finally. now we seem to be getting some specifics on that.

That alone is a major problem for USAID that we all should want to address, but the rats seem to be really scurrying over some of the more questionable grants that really have no place at an agency like USAID or probably anywhere in the US Gov't actually.

It is being reported this morning that Politico has been receiving USAID money.

If true, no wonder the rats are scurrying.

and here, I thought funding Transgender mimes in Ecuador was as bad as it got.

It is also being reported that Politico employees have not been paid this week.

It is being reported that not all their government money was coming from USAID, but from lots of other slush funds as well.

Yeah, like the office of the Speaker of the House, the House Agriculture committee, and others. Politico subsists on a subscription model. Because of that, its subscriptions cost more than other media outlets. I know you'll all be shocked to learn that Musk and other government voices were saying than USAID spent 8 million on Politico, when in fact that is the sum total of all subscription costs from all corners of government. Trump may even (I'm not educated enough on the finer points of this) be able to cancel all 8 million of that, if he wants to close off that news source. But to blame it all on USAID is just more of that shameless propaganda that the oligarch keeps pushing. Wonder why that is?

Well, if your information is accurate, 8 million dollars of taxpayer money is going to Politico. Maybe that is justified? I'd like to see how much taxpayer money is going to other 'news sources'. It would be interesting to see a graph on that, to see what our government bureaucracy is ingesting. Will we get that information? Probably not. But it would be interesting.

And how about commenting on all the other funding that is being uncovered. All the NGOs we are giving taxpayer money to. You OK with that?

But what if they don’t release that information? Then we can just have this information about Politico, but no the organization.

It almost sounds like we need a free press to investigate, not the bunch of ass kissing folks that we have surrounding Trump right now.

Very odd, by the way, how you’ve been completely willing to shred the Constitution.

My understanding is that it is being (or will be) all released. I think there are or will be places that we can see the information on where the government has been spending money. For example, I saw a screen grab of a spreadsheet showing millions and millions of dollars that were going to various tentacles of Lutheran Social Services type organizations. As with the Catholic organization grants, a large portion of which is used to funnel illegals into the country.

Not all the stories will break through the noise like Politico did for obvious reasons.

Please explain how the Constitution is being torn to shreds and how you were not the least bit concerned about it until now.

It is also very odd that you have no concern about the federal government wasting taxpayer money wherever it goes. If the fed is supporting right wing causes I want that shut down too.

With the large amount of USAID money that headed towards the Des Moines Register-there are people digging into/speculating that pollster Ann Selzer got USAID money (probably at a couple of degrees of separation-but who knows-maybe it was straight up) for that made up Iowa Poll during the last days of the election that was a last-ditch attempt to switch the narrative going into election day.

As a reminder, that made up, crap poll from a "Highly Respected" pollster had Harris winning Iowa by 3, when Trump won it by 13.
