The guys(?) gals(?) thems(?) -oh, hell you know what I mean-the group of psycho tranny vegan activists that killed the border patrol agent (among others) on Inauguration Day.

Mark Steyn

>>>"In a healthy media culture, even Burlington's somnolent Gannett monodaily would be running screaming front-page headlines about "PSYCHO TRANNIES ON THE RAMPAGE!" Instead, precisely because they're trans - and in a week when another trans "activist" was arrested at the Capitol en route to kill the Treasury Secretary - the "mainstream" press have decided to give the entire story a very wide berth and leave it all to the tireless Andy Ngo."<<<

Also, a woman from Delaware County suspected of murdering her parents fled to Vermont where she killed a Border Patrol agent. Besides the danger from cartels and coyotes, these law enforcement people are targeted by regular criminals as well. And the left hates them because they enforce dumb immigration laws that they didn’t write.

See, things like this are where we could find some common ground, if we could all stop yelling at each other for a hot minute. I read the Steyn article (I don't use Twitter any more.) The first half of the article I wholeheartedly agree with, and have yelled about this on other media, as well. I don't know enough about the second half to comment, although, when I googled it, there did appear to be a number of news pieces about it on several media of both left and right.

Do you understand the difference between the purpose of Twitter and the purpose of Google? How one might use one but not the other? If it helps, I'm about done with Google, too, but they make it very hard to find alternatives. Do you have a good search algorithm to suggest as an alternative?

Of course I do. Do you subscribe to the Ifonly method of debate? Conning yourself to think everyone who disagrees with you is a moron?

Google has all but admitted, and there are many whisteblowers that confirm, that they skew their searches towards the left.

Many informed people from inside the news media believe the legacy news media is dead. They don't have a monopoly on news reporting anymore since everyone has their own camera and the ability to post their news to a wide audience. And because they have been shown to push lies so often. Twitter(X) and other social media has become the news media. The only problem is figuring out who to believe. Unless you want to be a stooge, you have to research any issue yourself from different angles to try and determine that. That's a difficult task, and anyone, including me, starts with our own particular bias. But as I have shown, I try and pick things that I can verify and prove to myself, and I have found a number of things that our elected officials and news media are lying to us about, and/or reporting only one side of an issue. The only thing I can do is extrapolate that on issues that are related.

I use DuckDuck Go, Bravo or Firefox as checks on Google where it is warranted.

I tried DuckDuckGo, without much success. That has been a couple of years, though, so I may give it another shot.

I'm currently using Firefox, but many times it gives me unsatisfactory info, because Google has such a stranglehold on the information market.

I have not tried Bravo. I'll look into it and see what it has to offer.

But the fact of the matter, and what I was trying to convey, is that Google and Twitter should be filling different ends of the information market. Twitter is not meant to be a place for thoughtful analysis or deep dives. Rather, it has been a place for instant reactions and live streaming of events. The usefulness of the two platforms should be at odds with each other.

Regardless, my point on this thread is that we are not getting the news as we should.

Did you mean Brave as a search engine? I couldn't locate a search engine named Bravo.

I was curious, so I entered the search parameter "Trump Tariff" in Google, DuckDuckGo, and Brave. I use Firefox as my browser as a matter of habit. I did not read each story, just looked at the sources. I am sure there are duplications across all 3 of them. I also only looked at the first page of results. I think this very unscientific survey is interesting. This is what I found:

Don’t travel to the border when your real enemy is located in every town.

Woman with incendiary devices arrested following vandalism at Tesla dealership in Colorado

We shouldn’t jump to conclusions from one picture. She may have used disguises and aliases in her Tesla attacks. Or she may just be unattractive.

This insanity has got to stop. This is a MAN. Any 'news' source that cannot report that basic fact is certainly the enemy of the people. You don't agree with me? You have no frickin credibility. And I'm NOT sorry. You have a serious mental condition.
