OK, I followed your suggestion and listened to Trump’s rambling speech at the signing of the Laken Riley bill. He started by addressing the spending freeze. I’m glad to hear Medicare and Medicaid aren’t affected. Then he mentioned some programs that they found and halted. One was $50 million to buy condoms for Hamas in Gaza, which the terrorists used to construct weapons. I knew that was false when I heard the ridiculous dollar amount, and of course there’s no such program. A real expenditure that they stopped is the Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship Program, which pays for bright Burmese youth to go to college in the Philippines. They probably thought it’s forbidden DEI training. Actually, it’s called that because it favors students from minority groups that the Myanmar government oppresses.

BTW, Biden also gave rambling speeches at signings that boasted about his accomplishments.

I agree. Trump should stay away from sarcasm, but he is who he is. That said, why should we not examine all expenditures of taxpayer money? It's long past time for it.

Interestingly, one way to do that is to examine the funding by making use of inspectors general. Oh wait we got rid of them too.

But if you did that, you would find that some of the funding actually does pretty important stuff, and stopping it abruptly causes needless harm
