The accusations made against him seem to be by unnamed sources. The people who have worked closely with him have said, on the record, that these accusations are not true. They add that no 'journalist' ever bothered to contact them about this issue. Being a moron, I guess I'm mistaken that if you are going to publish a smear story like this, you might want to verify it with people who have day to day contact with the guy. Stupid me. I should know that because there are 'articles' about something, that means it's true.Weyoun wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 8:28 amTo further add:
Hegseth it was probably a drunkard. They’ve been very articles about this, including a report that he was meeting with Trump and others just a month ago stinking of alcohol.
He’s also financially unreliable. He used his first wife’s credit card to pay for hotel rooms to have affairs with his future wife. He always seems short of cash.
He ran two veteran nonprofits into the ground, with the suggestion being that it was his drunkenness that led to that.
And by the way, he’s never led any sort of position more significant than those nonprofits.
He’s obviously not qualified. Just because he goes on TV and says anti-woman comments does not change that.

Wait, so 10 people who work underneath the guy in a charity said he was a drunkard, but two people who hosted a weekend talk show with him (one, Rachel Campos-Duffy, essentially being a reality TV star heraelf) and for political reasons need to curry favor with Trump said he is not?flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 9:48 amThe accusations made against him seem to be by unnamed sources. Who are these people? Do they have names? Would we be able to recognize even one of them? What are THEIR political reasons?Weyoun wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 10:16 amWait, so 10 people who work underneath the guy in a charity said he was a drunkard, but two people who hosted a weekend talk show with him (one, Rachel Campos-Duffy, essentially being a reality TV star heraelf) and for political reasons need to curry favor with Trump said he is not?flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 9:48 amThe accusations made against him seem to be by unnamed sources. Nah....
Let's put the lacivious accusations aside for a moment and just ask a practical question - What qualifications does he have to run the Defense Department? This is one of, if not THE largest organizations in the world. He is a National Guard veteran who has seen combat but has no senior command experience and has no experience in intelligence. He has never been the head of any organization larger than CVA which has at most, a few hundred employees. He has been described as "the least experienced nominee" for the position in history. So assuming that all the allegations against him are false, why should we have confidence that he is a good choice to run theis crucial department?flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 9:48 amThe accusations made against him seem to be by unnamed sources. You must have loved Rumsfeld back in the early 2000's. Why he had even been a previous SecDef back in the 70's. Right up your alley as to qualifications and such.kroxquo wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 4:47 pmLet's put the lacivious accusations aside for a moment and just ask a practical question - What qualifications does he have to run the Defense Department? By whom? By those currently in the prevailing toxic culture? We need to pick one of them, right? The same people whose experience in intelligence led to the Afghanistan withdrawl fiasco??He has been described as "the least experienced nominee" for the position in history.
Sounds like we need a CONFIRMATION HEARING to confirm these claims.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 1:28 pmWho are these people? Do they have names? Gosh I am glad you are here to clarify everything.
The people who have put their names and careers on the line were NOT contacted by the 'journalists' who put together this hit piece, and came forward on their own to say these charges are bullshit (their words, not mine), when they just could have let it play out and not been affected by it.
I think they have more credibility, but that's just me.
