Just had a wonderful conversation with the new President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. She has agreed to stop Migration through Mexico, and into the United States, effectively closing our Southern Border. We also talked about what can be done to stop the massive drug inflow into the United States, and also, U.S. consumption of these drugs. It was a very productive conversation!

Why didn't Joe Biden do that? Why didn't Kamala Harris do that?

If the 2020 election hadn't been stolen, 4 years of illegal immigration would not have happened, and mass deportations would not be necessary.

But I think he'll do much better these next 4 years. He has had 4 years to reflect on things and to know the swamp better.

The Biden administration negotiated the freedom of three Americans held in China, and a cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah. Plus they’re hurrying to complete their domestic agenda (such as appointing judges) before the GOP takes over. In this situation most of us would be tempted to chill and contemplate retirement instead.

Question for you is. You are screaming about border crossings. Isn’t it the responsibility of the US to keep people from crossing into the US. Canada is protecting the border from people trying to get into Canada, not people leaving.

And the failure of the current administration to do so is one of the main reasons Trump was re-elected to his third term. If Canada is so concerned about people entering from the US and screwing up Trudeau's utopia, perhaps they should build a wall. Maybe you should start being more concerned. I’m confused, by the way. Maybe you can help me, though I have low expectations - if we can jack up tariffs to increase American industry to keep Mexican products out, wouldn’t the same logic apply to fentanyl?

Just seems kind of strange to crash the economy and worsen inflation because we’re scared of a product that certainly can be made domestically, and has a group of adherents who will go out of their way to sell it, buy it, and use it.

Just a thought from someone on the front lines of the drug war. I’m sure you know better than me, though, since you spend more time on X.

There is probably some other way to address this, even from a multifactorial standpoint. It’s disappointing to me to hear that the only way we’re addressing this terrible drug is to throw up a bunch of tariffs that make like difficult for all of us. I thought that wacko who was gonna be head of HHS was going to break the establishment or something and suggest some crazy idea, like widespread detoxification programs.
