Recess Appointments

If there was still any doubt about how the 47th President could subvert the Constitution, Exhibit A is this post on Twitter:
“Any Republican Senator seeking the coveted LEADERSHIP position in the United States Senate must agree to Recess Appointments (in the Senate!), without which we will not be able to get people confirmed in a timely manner."
In other words, he doesn't want to have to deal with all those pesky checks and balances that the framers put in the Constitution regarding advice and consent of Presidential appointments and instead wants the Senate leadership to declare it is in recess so he can go ahead an put in who he wants without discussion or debate about the fitness, interests, or competence of appointees. (And I know that some of our more pedantic contributors will point out that the Constitution does not specify cabinet positions since there is no mention of a cabinet, but the process has been enshrined in law and upheld by SCOTUS.)
And so it begins.

You clearly don’t value transparency. Don’t think, even remotely, that this isn’t the way the game is played on both sides. Trump is just being open about it.

It began a long time ago, krox. The swamp will do everything in its power, and not in its power, to block and sabotage everything he wants to do and he was elected to do. And they have been doing it for years already. They own Washington and the legacy media.
Trump was elected overwhelmingly to change that. He will use what he can do LEGALLY to overcome that. Now what, krox, is illegal about what he is asking? Do you deny that the democrats will and have already planned to block in whatever way they can anything he proposes? I was on Gavin Newsome's zoom call the other day. They are not hiding it.

I see Krox is doing a good job of not letting Trump live rent-free in his head anymore. LOL.

He is obviously welcome to post whatever he wants-but I can also make fun of his hysterical over-reaction to every little thing for years. I enjoy the stress that he has obviously put himself under and as a doctor, you might agree that this stress is probably not the best thing for his long-term health.

I liken him to the good pastor. Firebreath is probably now the second most hateful resident of the board. I put ifonly first, now, because of the frequency of his posts. The pastor saves them up.

You’ll be happy to hear that I’m not the least bit stressed about this. Kicking your creepy fascist ass around is great amusement to me.

Breaking news. "Smart" Pennsylvania doctor shows his lack of wisdom by being strangely obsessed online with a Minnesota farmer.

Creepy, fascist "wise" Minnesota farmer keeps randomly invoking my name, but he's not an obsessed with me, he says.

I don't understand the need for this. He has a Republican-majority Senate, which is the only body with the Constitutional responsibility to "advise and consent".

You don't understand? Maybe you should ask Brett Kavanaugh. Or Clarence Thomas.

Most of his reported appointments (Kristi Noem, Elise Stefanik, Marco Rubio, John Ratcliffe) will sail through the Senate. Others don’t require confirmation. His Department of Government Efficiency isn’t a real department, more like a policy think tank. Some like Pete Hegseth for SecDef could face pushback. No former generals so far - I suppose he soured on them since his first term.

The democrats have been extensively planning to vigorously oppose and delay his agenda. Gavin Newsome's zoom meeting is just one example, and he was blatant enough to do it in public. Lord knows what they have up their sleeve that they've planned in private. I'm sure they have investigated every possible nominee's high school activities. And lined up people willing to slander any one of them. President Trump has learned a lot in the past 4 years and at last our side (WE THE PEOPLE) are seeing some push back against the 6 ways from Sunday tactics of the swamp and possibly some courage to take the fight to them.

Wrong country Dude. Rhodesia did not have Apartheid, and as I am sure you know-in the 1920's there was a vote on whether or not to join Rhodesia to South Africa. I don't remember if that was just a Rhodesian vote-or included South Africa or whatever.
But, if Rhodesia had joined South Africa-Smuts would not have lost the 1948 election in South Africa and Apartheid would not have been a thing.
I am sure that you can enlighten us on how the minority Ndebele have faired under majority Shona rule in Zimbabwe and whether they might have faired better in Rhodesia.
But, I suspect that information and analysis on specific African tribes would be a little too granular for you as you just see them as an amorphous blob of African blacks.

All it takes is a majority vote, so where's the problem? Could it be that there are some "RINOs" who might resist some of the nominations?

Nice try, but when you assume I am a Communist based on my stated positions, I'll make the same leap and assume that you celebrate Hendrik Verwoerd's birthday.
