Should we round up "the enemy within"?
Seems problematic to do and against democratic values. In retrospect, things like the Red Scare only weakened us and did not stop the USSR. So I vote NO to the idea of using the US military to round up "the enemy within."

No one is suggesting or ever has suggested that the military be involved. I don't know, and I don't want to know where you get notions like these.
I think it's long overdue for the people that have been breaking, ignoring and making up laws that don't exist be held accountable for their actions. Using a justice system that is truly fair, equitable and blind, once it is reformed. Liz Cheney is one of many. She needs to be held accountable, not shot.
Off the top of my head:
Cheney for her role in hiding and destroying any and all exculpatory evidence in the J6 starchamber.
Merrick Garland for the use of lawfare against political enemies.
People like Lois Lerner, who have used their positions to advance political agendas.
Judges like Merchan, who ignore law for their own political benefit, to avoid making hard but correct decisions, and for monetary gain.
The list goes on for miles.
It will not be possible to prosecute them all, but if just a handful of them could be convicted and given meaningful sentences, it may send a message to others who, up to now, have seen no downside in abusing their power for political gain.
I think that is probably too reasonable for you. You won't understand it.
But please note that in the post above I did not advocate anyone to be shot, or any children, Gazan or not, to be harmed in any way, and did not make any mention of brown people. I rest assured you'll find something else to accuse me of, however.

So, in other words, we should use the police power to round up the political enemies of Donald Trump. Gotcha. Why not? We have real crimes as opposed to the made up ones your people are already using against their political enemies. OTOH breaking into the Capitol to stop a lawful proceeding and trashing the place is objectively a criminal act.

But iI get it; the fact he's still breathing is enough to trigger your outrage.
But you do get big boy points for recognizing that giving people grief isn't a crime.

But at least I didn't advocate shooting any Gazan transgender children of color. (well, I don't think I did. I guess that's up to you). This happened not too far from where I live. Harris may not be a great leader but no one objectively would call her criminal - yet that happened.
So when you defend rounding up Trump’s enemies, I am interpreting it to mean that. Where does it stop? Should those who voted for Harris be arrested?

There's a reason the Speech and Debate Clause (Article I, Section 6, Clause 1) was included in the Constitution. Liz Cheney cannot constitutionally be prosecuted (or held civilly liable) for any of her activities as a member of the January 6 Committee. Not that a little thing like the Constitution is likely to stop Donny if he gets another chance at power, but still. --BobWeyoun wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 11:46 amI’m having a hard time to figure out what above is actually a crime.
