The Apprentice

SSS posted back in May that The Apprentice, a movie about the future orange felon's life in the 1970s and 1980s, was screened at Cannes and set to be released in American theaters this fall.

Well, even though I made a post in that thread, I had completely forgotten about the movie up until a few days ago when somebody on Facebook dissected a whiny post that the orange felon made about the movie on his failing Pravda Antisocial app. The movie opened in select theaters two weeks ago. So yesterday, I took the family up to Lennox Town Center near THE Ohio State University so that we could watch the movie and see how the orange felon became the human scum that he is today.

It was a good movie, but not a masterpiece by any means. The pacing was way too slow for my liking. Plus, Sebastian Stan's portrayal of the future orange felon left a lot to be desired. He nailed down the look, the mannerisms, the facial expressions, the gesturing, and all the other physical stuff... but his voice wasn't shrill enough or whiny enough to make me believe that it was the orange felon's voice. On the positive side, Jeremy Strong's portrayal of sleazo lawyer Roy Cohn sent persistent chills down my spine and it wouldn't surprise me if he gets nominated for a bunch of awards.

So I must thank the orange felon for reminding me that this movie was in theaters. I would have missed it if he knew how to keep his mouth shut or turn his cellphone off.
