Choosing to reject fear-based messaging

That's it. The title. I am choosing to reject fear-based messaging, from parties, from candidates, from the TV.
I don't spend much time online except reading sports things for work, and then on Reddit, where things are sorted by topic, so I can just stick to cats and r/aww. If I had an account anywhere else, I would have deactivated it or paused it.
We have all been programmed to various degrees by our culture, and we can reject a lot of it. We can choose to make choices based on the good we want to do in the world, and to not have it be about what makes us afraid.
I am absolutely not saying one group or another makes goodness more likely. That would be buying in to the fear narrative. Every single one of us has the potential to be good and to do good.
