Reading some of this strikes me as perhaps fabricated? It's just too, too.

I have been watching him strut for a couple of years, as lieutenant governor (some of us thought one reason Gov. Roy Cooper took his name out of the running for VP was that he would have left this guy running the show while he campaigned).

He was a factory worker who came to be well-known from videos of his speeches at a county commission meeting or some such. I love the idea of working hard, and then of serving one's community, but he has a smirky quality that makes me think he knows what game he is playing, and it's not about service.

He has built his ascent on what I think of as the politics of fear, but he can come across as compelling in some recent well-crafted ads.

I just feel terrible for his wife, who I assume did not know what she was signing up for.

I don't know if there is time for the party to make him withdraw tonight; ballots are already late going in the mail because we had to reprint them after RFK Jr. withdrew.

Robinson was told not to attend the JD Vance event this evening, so they said he is sick.

I 'm in North Carolina and I think every word of it is true. This guy is a genuine loony. For years he has been making inflammatory statements about LBGTQ rights, abortion, and other hot button social issues. Josh Stein, current Attorney General and Democratic candidate, has been making hay in his ads doing nothing more than showing clips of Robinson making statements himself. In one ad, you see him saying women who get abortions are “killing” children because they “weren’t responsible enough to keep your skirt down.” This despite the fact that his own wife had an abortion. The man is a sleaze.

So here's what you do....

Don't vote for him.

And I will go on the record. I'm not going to vote for him.

My gut says 85-90% is true. I think most of what he says is appalling, but most is well within the bounds of free speech.

I always suggest conservative friends check out the Libertarian candidates, as they share a lot of the same platforms. I was pleased to vote for a Libertarian governor candidate a while back, as they need some small percentage points of the vote to not have to recertify, which is a pain in the rear. I shared seven out of 10 positions with her, and the D-R situation was already a slam dunk that year.

That's news to me. I always thought that Robinson was the complete opposite of a Nazi. I always thought that Robinson was a gay atheist with a transvestite wife... and that must be true because I tagged Robinson as a gay atheist with a transvestite wife on Twitter years ago and he has never denied it.

Here is what I also do.

Attempt to convince everyone I know in NC also not to vote for him. Put up signs in my yard for his opponent, Josh Stein, even though the county I live in is fire engine red. Actively work for his opponent. And on election day, when I am working at the polls, see that the election is run fairly and equitably for everyone. I am one person who will not vote for him. But I am fully cognizant that there are enough people out there who will vote for him just because there is an R next to his name (and to be fair there are a lot of people who will vote for Stein just because there is a D next to his name) that my one vote may not make a difference but working to convince more people may.

And since I don't know what district you live in, I will pledge not to vote for any of the following:

Maura Keller
Hank Johnson
Nikema Williams
Lucy McBath

You know as well as I do why doc posted this. The same reason he calls us all these names and makes up ridiculous stories and applies me or someone else as the main characters in them. Because everyone who doesn't believe what he believes is a Mark Robinson or the caricature that has been created for him. That's what a lot of people do, especially in the media conglomerate.

I don't know shit about that race in NC. So I don't know what I would do, and I'm glad I don't have to worry about it.

I am very well acquainted with Bongo. A nice guy with a sense of humor. I wish I could vote for him. I'm not in his district. But he is going up against Nikema Williams, who inherited John Lewis's machine. He doesn't have much of a chance, but he is campaigning hard, will narrow the gap, and will loosen the grip of the democrat machine just a little. As will the full slate of candidates we have stood up. It's the first time in many decades that some districts will actually have a choice on the ballot in my county.

If he did have a chance, I'm sure some intrepid reporter would do a hit piece on him like they did for Mr. Robinson. That seems to be the only kind of story they use investigation skills on. I haven't heard of any yet, so I guess Williams is not worried.

I agree that the good doc posted that he's a racist and perv, words to piss off whomever, since Robinson used those words to describe himself, to provoke conversation. A very disingenuous display of "oh I'm such a good person."
