Lawfare has reduced us to a third-world justice system.

Celebrate today. The Kraken has been released.

Interesting you would set aside of jury of your peers.

You complain about justice and call us a third old country, but you can’t even recognize it when our basic Democratic institutions work.

Then again, those jurors may have an IQ higher than room temperature, so perhaps they’re not your peers.

Other than the fact that finally it's done...don't forget a jury found OJ innocent, too. Jurors are not infallible, but it's done so yay.
Now the appeals. Sigh.

Weyoun, I'm thinking you've never been a juror. I was on a murder trial. It was excrutiating.
With that said our instructions were not 55 pages long. I feel sorry for them.

More lawfare. The judge who will be overturned and should be prosecuted on appeal has set the sentencing for two days before the Republican National Convention, where the injustice affected person will accept the nomination.

I’m curious, what should he be prosecuted for? It’s a little weird that you to cry out against the justice system yet at the same time want it to be randomly applied against someone because you don’t like what they did from a political standpoint.

All you fascists are just the same. You don’t care about justice or law, just using the law as a weapon.

I’m sure they were under incredible pressure to say no for any number of reasons, given the stakes involved. Yet they were unanimous.

God bless America

If they were under pressure that would be jury tampering. So, are you suggesting things are awry? Even moreso?

I’ve never said he was a good president. Which means Trump, that cretin and felon, must be awful!

I'm curious on what grounds you think this verdict should be reversed on appeal. Appellate courts don't put much stock in general claims that the trial was rigged or the judge was unfair. They need specific errors that the judge made during the trial.

Jury wasn't sequestered so who knows. As a juror you can't discuss case with anyone. So, maybe undue pressure...

We don't know the answer to that yet do we?

They weren't a jury of anyone's peers. Biden and his cronies picked a venue that is 95% democrat to stage this travesty. And the 'judge' removed 3 who followed Trump on social media, but not those who followed Biden. Everything about this bullshit trial was staged, manipulated and politically orchestrated.

But not to worry. It has put Trump over the top. He will be elected in November. Democrats are awful at understanding unintended consequences. And the consequences have just been raised.

Let me explain the concept of venue to you. Venue in a criminal case is where the alleged crime occurred. The frauds in this case were committed in the Trump Organization headquarters in Manhattan, not in podunk North Dakota where Trump might get a more favorable jury. And at least one person on the jury said they followed Trump on Truth Social and remained on the jury.

Let me explain the ideas of 'fair trial' and 'equal justice under the law' to you.

On second thought, why bother?

But the system is designed (via proof beyond a reasonable doubt) to ensure that erroneous acquittals are far more common than erroneous convictions. --Bob

What do you figure the over/under is on the number of jurors who are SWATted in the next six months? I'm guessing two. --Bob

I can't say I'm the least surprised that you're willing to support a convicted criminal as long as he has an R next to his name. I'd have hoped that you'd draw the line at a convicted felon, but I knew better. --Bob

Oh bless your heart. You won't mind if I pass on your razor sharp legal analysis - at least until you're able to understand your own oath.

I guess you should feel uplifted then, and be celebrating your guy’s upcoming electoral success.

That’s not the vibe that I’m getting from you right now, though.

Introspect.

My 2 cents: This isn't going to make a dime's worth of difference in the outcome of the election. Those who support Trump will only be more steadfast in their support. I don't think that the verdict will sway many undecided voters, whose concerns are more personal - housing costs, inflation, unemployment, and so forth.
