Kristi Noem killed her dog

I know that that farm life is so tough - at any moment the Apache could invade - but I felt her murdering a dog pretty close to being a puppy is telling. She actually thought she would score points by bragging about cold blooded murder. Tells you a lot about the current worldview of the wacko MAGA crowd.

Kill a puppy get blacklisted.
Kill a baby, it’s a political platform.

BYW, I’m not on board with the puppy killing thing. But it is not a disqualification for public office. Just a data point among many.

Birth a baby and let it starve, it’s a political position.

Birth a baby and let it get shot at school, it’s a political position.

We can do this all day.

We can, but I'm the only one posting an actual politial party's platform. You're simply projecting the worst outcomes of a platform as the platform.

If Hitler was against abortion, would you have been a Nazi?

I'm confused. You are confusing outcomes with some sort of weird political agenda.

Well, bringing up abortion in a conversation about a dead dog will do that.

Yes. It’s pretty horrible to shoot your non-rabid dog.

I don't know if he was rabid. I woulda taken it to the vet along with the goat. Grant you that.
It's pretty horrible to kill your fetus because it's an inconvenience, which is the main reason for abortions based on Pew research.

Everything that I have seen is that MAGA is just as pissed off about this as everybody else.

She killed (pun intended) any chance she had to be VP.

If I were ever to shoot— or have shot — a dog or a cow or a bull or a horse of mine, very few people would know about it.

I totally get the concept that once you’ve decided to direct that an animal be killed, there’s nothing to be achieved by asking someone else to do it for you.

Directing others to kill and dispose of animals for you can end up costing you a lot of money. I know people who like to kind of brag about avoiding that expense. She seems to be one of them. They don’t have much common sense.

There are quite a few people who will like her even more after hearing this, but way too many who won’t get how she could do that and feel okay about it.

Based on what I know about her, I’m glad about that.

If the dog killed other people's chickens or bit her neighbor, the dog would have been put down by the law. But it killed her chickens and bit her. So forgive me, what the hell is all this bullshit about? Not that I don't know. Just a rhetorical question.

Thanks for posting this Flock. This is why you can't trust the mainstream media (or Weyon) as they leave out such specifics. I fell into the trap as I have not had time to do much political reading and just saw the headlines. Shame on me.

After further reading I found where the reasons are clearly stated in the book; the dog was agressive, had killed a neighbor's livestock and attacked her. Perfectly valid reasons for putting a dog down. And the way animals are put down in the county is by shooting (watch Old Yeller). It was a tough decision. Sometimes people have to do the right things even though they are uncomfortable and in certain lights harsh. One of the qualifications for being a leader.

I knew you would come around.

If you actually read the quotes, it was a couple of chickens. It was certainly nothing that meant the dog had to be destroyed. The other issue was the dog had too much fun during a pheasant hunt. She used the word “fun.”

Also, that dog was very young, and certainly could’ve been trained out of it.

But that would require work and sweat equity and investment, and folks of your ilk don’t want that. If someone in this country is struggling, you would just rather see them dead and move on, instead of investing in ways to make them better.

I question whether or not you owned a dog.

I knew that Noem spoke to the MAGA wacko crowd on a deeper level - selfish and trigger happy.

I'm reminded of a scene in one of my favorite B-movies, 100 Rifles, in which the villain, Fernando Lamas, lines up three Mexican peasants so he can shoot them with one bullet. He then tells a bystander, "Look, I know the value of things. Bullets are valuable. These [peasants] are not."

Sums up certain elements of the MAGA value structure quite well. I can see them reworking that scene into a modern-day immigration movie.

SSS, you may have a new screenwriting opportunity. You should reach out to Alexis Johnson.

"Look, I know the value of things. My free time is valuable. These babies are not."

Sums up certain most elements of the Democratic party value structure quite well. I can see them reworking that scene into a modern-day Tic-Toc.
